I swear I saw these for sale through someone, recently, for like $99.... It was one of the major (popular) companies who offer built engines.

I wish I could recall, but I was amazed that they were so cheap.

Nonetheless, $260 is a very good deal! Good find.

Awesome kdanner. I just looked, and these are exactly what I would put in my Coyote.

I actually opened my eyes, and see where these are 11mm lift with close to 30 degrees more duration. The Boss cams are just an increase in 2mm lift, IIRC.

Any idea what the .050 numbers are? Surely they are not 290?

Yeah, I would jump all over this if I were putting together a Coyote right now.

Thanks for sharing.

What would be better? Lift or duration? Obviously a combination of both, but with the production Boss exhaust cams being even cheaper than the ones listed above, wouldn't they be a better deal?

That question opens up a hole other debate. lol.

In all honesty, your really going to want to lean towards what your tuner / engine builder likes. At the end of the day, those are the guys handling your car.

We are trying a very big lift right now, with a small duration. Probably the biggest lift I've seen in a modular.

The 4V's will respond better to increased duration, than slight increase in lift.

That said - the Boss cams that have 13mm lift AND 290 degrees....would likely be better than the ones in this thread, BUT - for the price.....the cams kdanner posted are insanely cost effective. They also require "less" to install.

One thing I find interesting, is how historically - the key to making big N/A power was showing a little more bias towards the intake cam duration, than the exhaust. This specific platform, they are going more bias in duration towards the exhaust side... Typically, on a 4V.....the large exhaust duration gains a little power, but extends the power curve drastically (higher), whereas the larger intake side does not affect the power curve as drastically, yet allows for more power to be made.

The problem is the production GT head. If you want to just drop in cams, you're not going high lift. Notice all of the off the shelf Comp sets are 12.5mm intake/11.5mm exhaust. You need to clearance the heads to go to higher lift. The Boss head already has this done.

The 4V's will respond better to increased duration, than slight increase in lift.

That's the CJ ex cam that is 13MM/290. The OEM Boss is 13MM/263, same duration as a GT.

So what exactly is the difference from these:

http://www.americanmuscle.com/frpp-boss302r-exhaustcamset-1114gt.html

Edit: Due to more reading I think I spoke too soon. These seem to be for the boss motors only?

Here are the differences:

M-6550-M50BEXH = 13mm/290 duration, upgrade for the Boss heads, grinding needed to fit gt heads, $715.
M-6550-M50BR = 13mm/263 duration, production Boss, possible grinding to fit gt heads, $100.
M-6550-M50GTE = 11mm/290 duration, upgrade for GT heads, no grinding required, $275.

Worth noting, the 13-14 GT heads are already clearanced for the higher lift cams.

Can't find them on their website. A link would be much appreciated :)

I can't get their website to work at all at the moment. Just go to the Tasca subforum on here, Steve has all of his contact info there.
