L&M modifies the Coyote block as well, not sure cost, however Evo's been pushing one to over 1200 HP for a few months and some number of passes. (IDK how many)

agree on the tuning.

How is tuning separating the cylinder walls/sleeves from the block? The destroyed motors I've seen didn't suffer from detonation or preignition.

Anyone have more info on what to avoid?

OP what kind of forced induction and how much of it are you going to use to make the power?

Paxton 2200. Since im doing 10:1 ill need more boost to make same power. Prolly guessing 15-17 psi to get to 800 wheel hp

Bruce I certainly don't know anywhere near about this stuff as u....but I did have lengthy conversation with mike from l&m last week. He was very animated and was atimate that blocks that failed earlier n blocks that are failing now around the 850 or less wheel HP range are 100% in the tune. He was very animated about it. Who knows though.

I'm just curious. He would know.

He's very loyal to lund of course but he specifically said to me that he wouldnt do there water jacket fix on my motor unless I was going over 850 wheel horsepower....if I was confident with my tuner. Fwiw.

as tuners are getting more tune savy, seems cars are going faster and blocks are living longer.. might just be coincidence ?

I'm just wondering what it is in the tune? Detonation so strong that it busts the jacket walls loose? That's all I can think of but I don't claim to be any kind of expert.

At any rate I'm looking forward to the build.

cylinder pressure would cause it. technology of tuning valve timing to control cylinder pressure.

I am looking at almost the exact same combo with a TVS turned up. As an fyi if you get the oversized crank pulley you need an electric water pump.

Check out how much the pumps are $998. The Damper is 520.

I wouldn't worry about the block. It's not a dedicated racecar so it will only see that power occasionally it would take you 5+years to log the passes on your engine that Beefcake took to break his block turned up.

I would go with Wiseco pistons with their GFX rings or Total Seal stainless with Napier second ring either will be fine at that level.

And I wouldn't worry with the coating at that hp level either.

I assume you are going to cage the car at this power level?
As it won't be legal to go faster than 9.99 without one even on the new NHRA rule for 2008-newer cars
