Tuner can't get car to run

So for the second time, I'm here at my tuners.

When he sets the mafia to "0" and loads his base tune, the car won't turn over or stay on.

When we trick the mafia by setting it to "4" it runs fine.

Ever since I converted it to blow thru, I've had an issue. Wtf?

Thoughts?

Also, every time he plugs my tuner into his system, it crashes lol. Every. Time.

That's just a USB driver issue on his computer. (the crash when plugging in) happens to me randomly.

Since it runs fine with the mafia on 4 why don't you leave it there and have him finish up the tune?

Well aren't you essentially suppose to start at "0" and then go up in numbers as needed?

Not sure about that, that's like not using a MAFia in that case why is it there?
If you're going to have it on 0 it's not even in use, if it runs fine on 4 (when it's in use) why is it bothering you?

So you don't start from 0 to set fuel trims? Then go up as needed?

I have no idea, but 0 means it's not in use.
If you're going to USE a MAFia why would you adjust the car with the device basically off?

Maybe I'm just confused as to what he was saying. Shouldn't it work 0-4 if it works on 4?

Yes. Anything below #4 and the car doesn't want to idle.

It was set to #2 before blow thru. I just dont see how #4 is needed. All I did was convert to blow thru, not change a pulley

Why not just toss the Mafia and go with SCT...you would get a lot more tuning support.

Even if he does get an SCT BA-5000 I would keep the mafia, my Pro-M is similar to the 5000 and I have it set on 2 on the mafia and it's happy. If he's using the stock slot maf the 4 setting is about right but will prolly break up after 6300 rpms as that is what happened to my setup and the reason I put the Pro-M in. Getting the proper transfer values for the maf makes it easier dial in if you switch.

I know that my tuner hates using a Mafia. With that said, Ive used them on my car in the past. It worked good on my Vortech until about 600 rwhp. I switched to a BA 5000 and the car had improved street manners. So Mafia works but is really a bandaide for not have a maf with enough scaling. If it runs with the Mafia on "4" then go for it. Keep the BA 5000 in mind for future.

I used one, ditched in favor of a maf with better range, much easier to tune. Like said, having it set to zero make it pointless to have.

If you are running the Paxton with 3" pipe and a blow through with the stock MAF then the MAFIA needs to be on #3 or #4.

If your tuner does not understand why it needs to be on #3 or #4 then I would suggest you find another tuner...............FAST
