Well I'm still in that girlfriend stage and she lives 2 hours away, but is coming for mustang week and my room and garage are filled with boxes on boxes so that should be interesting. She knows I love my hobby, if not don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out :)

Motor is out. Also have the transmission seperated the biggest issue we ran into is we couldn't get it out with the headers attached :( so we had to take those off first. That took the most time. I really hope we can get the motor back in with headers installed. That will be a pain in the dick to reinstall the headers again with the motor in the car.

Good luck man, I hope your build goes faster than mine! And also hope that your headers will fit back into the engine bay fully attached when the motor goes back in! I bought new headers as part of my build so IDK what to expect..

^^That's it, set the stage right from the get go, good for you! lol!

Dropping everything off at the machine shop tomorrow. He said they are backed up - so who knows how long it will take.

I know... it will take approximately 4 times as long as they say it will. Since they did not give you a date I say your fucked.

Welcome to the world of machine shops. Truly a world of their own. :beerdrink:

While it's apart you might as well, then you can lap them in afterwards and have fresh valves. Also they can check your guides and such while they are at it. I am almost for certain mine will need sleeves.

before you go looking for a new one..

1. has it ever been turned before?

2. why haven't they turned it? instead of you looking for a new crank. You can easily turn them .020 while still having a readily available bearing off the shelf.

3. I would want pictures and proof (that's just who I am), and secondly was there anything wrong with the motor before you took it out? (I honestly can't recall if you said in the thread or not right now).

No I was just getting it tuned. From a blower install. I'm gonna stop by the shop Thursday and check it out.

I'll take pics of the crank, but the shop just said on high hp builds that turning the crank can jeopardize the strength of the crank.

Yeah it was running. I wasn't driving it as I was just data logging idles and small drives in my neighborhood. It had hiccups but I just gathered that as either tune or spark plugs. No oil light.
