Actually it's 2,800 miles. 1/4 mile +1/4 mile shutdown+1/2 mile return road.That's only 700 miles.

Ford designed the rod for 300 HP. Silly to think they will last when leaned on. Some get lucky, some don't.
the safety factor on that design has got to be huge for these things to be surviving at 450rwhp. Big safety factors aren't uncommon on engine parts, but still.That's 300 crank hp.
Hell yea they did. If you're making 450 at the wheels it's probably even closer to 75 than 50.Holding 50%+ more power than stock, I'd say ford did everyone a huge favor.
How's it going guys, I just bought me a 08 GTCS it has 101xxx miles and I was wondering would it be safe to push 7-10 lbs of boost usin a 70mm turbo on stock internals
Its a risk, period. As long as your ok taken a risk, go for it! If you want minimum risk, stay NA! Most people make plenty of power at 8psi, for example, I've been fine for almost two years now at 8psi making 470rwhp. Granted, my transmission, clutch and an eaton diff where not fine.

I've been at 478rwhp 7psi for 3 years now. I don't drive the car much. 3-4k a year. But like mentioned before its always a risk when you add boost. Not only for your engine but your whole car. Ex. suspension, brakes, tires. then build list starts.![]()
Power is the last thing the car should get.
If it can't turn or stop it shouldn't be getting more power.
Obviously the turning part is less important for drag racing.
I started with suspension, tires, brakes, exhaust and driveline before adding power. I added cooling and fuel the same time I added power.
I mean, blowing my factory motor up only really cost me $600 more than if I would have built it before it blew up.with all these rod eating talk you would think this forum was s197homos
run as much boost as you want, its only your engine
Had good luck with my stock block and the turbo. I dyno tuned for a max of 9.17 psi on e85 and made 466/490. I took it to the track the very next day. I was hugging the low 11.0 and 11.1 so I turned it up slightly and probably ran a max of high 10 to low 11 psi on a cold day(assuming about 510/530) and ran a 10.91. I had 84k miles on the car when the engine came out and 44k miles boosted. I never ever reved past 6k rpm though.
