I think the larger hole is where the old mechanical brake lite switch was mounted. The extra large hole let the switch move.

The larger hole below where it is mounted now is the factory hole. I drilled a 3/8 hole where it is now mounted to line the MC rod up where it needed to be and get it close to the ratio that Strange recommends. The end that came with the UPR "kit" was the hole I was referring to that was to large.

Well, I am off for the next three days and going to test the brakes in the AM and if all is well get that 3rd gear pull in for Manuel. If all goes well, I hope to have video for Jim by Sunday evening.

I'll grab some pics of it tomorrow

Thanks, are you still running the factory power master cylinder with your Strange brakes? I seem to remember that you were. If so, are they SUPER touché? Also did you ever have any noise from your rear brakes when braking them in? I have kind of a roar coming from mine at higher speed stops.

Yeah I was still running the power with the strange brakes, and they were touchy as heck first getting used to them. I was dumb and my break in consisted of a 13 second run followed by a 9.03...I didn't hear anything but I did get on the brakes late on the fast run and had them smoldering before I got shut down. Haven't noticed any noise since. Interested to see how they feel for effort with the manual MC and modified pedal ratio:

I've been really happy with my strange manual brake conversion that I did last winter. I still have the stock calipers on my car though so I went with the smaller bore master cylinder. I didn't remove the pedal assembly to do my install though, I drilled the brake pedal lever with it in the car.

Honestly, the thing I didn't like doing the install was that the bolts that go through the aluminum block into the car to fasten it to the firewall aren't studs and you either need to put vice grips on the nut and tighten the bolts in the engine bay or have someone else hold one side while you tighten the other.

Okay, the car is finally running correctly!

It looks like I made a really big and expensive mistake about 20 pgs back!

So, lets rewind back to my last motor. I was having issues with the car falling on its face at 5400 or so. I did a compression test and the #1 cylinder was dead. I then blamed the on my copper head gaskets only later to find a broken exhaust valve spring on that cylinder after the motor was out and torn down. At that point I assumed I had both a broken valve spring and a bad seal on the heads due to not following the re torque procedure correctly. So I went though the entire motor again.

Well fast forward to the new motor that I have in the car now. I got it together and was still having the same issue. I was thinking sensors, plug gap, you name it. IDK, I have never ran 20 psi with 12.0:1 C/R.

Well Manuel and myself went back and forth trying to figure it out and then yesterday came. Manuel suggested that I move the MAF back to the Procharger location it was at last year. I had moved it because on short bursts, like a burnout, with three nozzles, my meth kit would get the MAF wet when I lifted. I only rotated it 180*. So, I took his advice and moved it back and WTF, all issues solved!

I am on my 4th tune revision today and will test it in the AM. I was only seeing 18psi because the MAF was going flat and limiting rpm at 800 counts at 5400 rpms and now with it back in the original location it pulls smooth and hits 820 counts at 6500 rpms. I have done three pulls today from 3500 to 6500 rpms and now see 21.3 psi.

So now the plan is to get the 12.0:1 motor on 21+ psi to 11.2 to 11.5 A/F and 18 to 20* timing and work on drivability this week. Then go to a track this weekend so I can make some 2nd to 3rd gear pulls at the track where I can get traction in 2nd then go from there.

Here is a pic of the costly mistake!

Im confused. You welded it in a new location or??? Trying to figure it out but cant, lol.

Yes, it is normally on the left side of that pipe in the pic and it is on the right. All I did was rotate it 180* and it fucked everything!

I guess im wondering how? Isnt the airflow the same or does it have more turbulence on the other side?

Don't ask me, that is why I was not worried about doing what I did. All I know it I reversed it and the fucker runs now! 5 month waste of time...

Holy smokes. I'm glad you figured it out. I sure like to know the "why" of it though for my internal database.

Glad its figured out, cant wait for new track times.
Me too! I was just about to pull a Jim...

JK, I don't blame him, there was a time a while back that I did not touch my car for 6 months. Then my daddy dies and I decided it was time to do what I want in my life to make me happy. Then a fucked off '14, without one trip to the track. '15 is going to be fun!:thumb:

Im going with turbulence... I tried another brand new PMAS HPX MAF and all. I mean its not like I flipped it upside down, I just rotated it 180*. IDK, Im just glad it is fixed!

I agree turbulence is the only thing that comes to mind. Crazy. I guess I'm going to have add "move MAF" and re-test to future diagnosis.

I'm real happy you figured it out. That sort of stuff will ruin a man!!
