Hi Kelly,
Thanks for the response. I'm completely serious. As a consumer and one of your potential customers I'm asking you to defend your product and pricing. Can you do that?

Brad, here are a few things to consider.

Specs: BMR vs OEM
-BMR arms are 10~lbs lighter than OEM
-BMR arms have grease able ball joints, promoting a longer service life
-BMR arms have a free floating design bushing system, unlike the OEM that has bonded rubber bushings. This promotes better performance.
-BMR arms have grease fittings on the front, and rear bushings – to ensure a noise free operation
*OEM S197 Arms are known for making noises, and there are TSBs for servicing them when they do so. Google “Mustang front control arm noise TSB”

Pros VS Cons
-OEM replacement is cheaper
-OEM replacement has rubber bushings, so the NVH is less
-OEM replacements do not have a warranty that I know of
-BMR arms have a very thorough 2-year warranty. (this includes the entire control arm, even the ball joints which are wear items – which no other company would do)
-BMR has myself to assist you with any issues you may have. The OEM replacements, you get what you get and use it. If you have issues, you do not have the person who is behind the design helping you, rather – you have the local parts store worker, or a rep from AutoAnything.com – etc.

Cost Factoring
-BMR arms are low volume production. OEM is mass production, and I assume the production is automated VS BMR’s are all made by hand by American Workers.

Realistically, there is no way a small company like BMR can sell a set of aftermarket welded tubular front lower control arms for the same price as an OEM replacement. We have multiple fabricators involved in the process, and use high quality components that are based on performance (all low production)

All of our materials are sourced from the United States, and we perform the entire production process in our facility in Tampa, FL. We have English speaking American workers at our facility, who enjoy nice things in life – and we have to compensate them accordingly.

Our pricing is based on a formula, and the formula that we have is to ensure that we make enough profits to continue our operation, and provide top level products for the enthusiast who wants better performing suspension. These a-arms are priced with our formula – like every other component we offer. We are currently one of the largest aftermarket performance Chassis and Suspension manufactures in the United States, and are on pace to be above anyone else in the near future.

Of all that said, I honestly think a set of OEM replacements is your best bet. If your concern was more performance based, and not about your freedom to get the component for a lesser dollar than our MAP Price point – then I would say you would enjoy the benefit of the BMR arms. However, I do not think I could talk you into being happy with our component and it’s price point.

Thanks!

All of that typing and not one word about the bitching red paint .... You undersold yourself this time. I think it is high time to hire the D.O.B. marketing team.

It covers customer over the counter, dealer and 3rd party shop. They also cover up to $150 for labor install on fleet partners and installers.

Unfortunately they are not red, and this is a deal breaker for most.

You guys crack me up.

And Galloping, if he is talking about a legit OEM piece, then I see.

He may be just talking about any ole part store, or Ebay reman piece or something.

Now the FRPP stuff.....usually there is absolutely no warranty on their suspension components. From my experience, anyways.

Many years ago I ran my own business. On occasion I'd get someone like this in my shop, and I would ask them to leave and go down the street. When they asked why, I said there is no amount of money that you will pay me that's worth the bullshit you're going to put me through. I don't need the money that bad.

Same here with this guy. You can see the brick flying at your head from a block away, Kelly - duck.

It's the two percent rule.

2 percent of the customers will take up 98 percent of your time.

I don't miss having a shop at all.

I am drafting my strongly worded letter about your lack of an axle brace for my beloved mustang.

This is why so many of us stick with BMR. To take the time and respond to what seems like a ridiculous question is the kind of care and service that sets you guys apart from the others. I'm glad to be a loyal customer, I'm just kinda bummed that I almost done with getting all the parts I need for my build. Of course if you come out with a torque arm for our cars, I will have something else I can buy from you. Thanks Kelly and BMR.

I usually receive anywhere from 140-180 emails over each weekend. This guarantees I get A LOT of crazy e-mails.

This one.....this one, though.

Hello,
I have a 2005 Ford Mustang. It's time to replace some front-end suspension components so I've been shopping on the internet.
When it comes to lower control arms, I see stock replacements, upgraded Ford Racing units and your item as the three most obvious choices. Your item sells for two and half more times than the average price of a pair of stock replacements, $500 vs $200. I'm curious to know what you will be giving me in exchange for the enormous premium you are asking me to pay for your item.

I've been in the retail industry for over 30 years working for a mass merchandise, deep discount organization that has success selling upscale merchandise. So my view of the marketplace is focused on value. I am making the assumption that you set the price points for your retail partners because I can't find more than a few dollars difference in price between retailers. How is that an advantage for you? Doesn't it make sense to allow larger, more efficient organizations to show value based on their leverage?

Bottom line for me, I would probably buy your product if I could find value on it. But because I don't feel like I have any freedom or choice as a consumer when it comes to your product I will choose something else.

I would appreciate your thoughts.

Thank you,

You sell LCA's for 500 bucks? Gold, platinum, space age-aluminized carbon fiber? (;^D)
