So I just bought the 2007 GT that I mentioned being interested in in my other thread. It rides worlds better than my 1996 Cobra I traded in on it. But it does make a slight clunking noise over larger bumps that a friend of mine who is a tech at the local Ford dealership said sounds like worn struts when I took him for a ride earlier.

Does anyone run Koni Orange STR.T shocks and struts? Will these give me a slightly smoother ride than OE and work well with lowering springs that i plan on buying later on down the road? Im not looking to spend a fortune and I don't want adjustable units but these would be within my price range after a bit of saving up

I run the STR.Ts with FRPP "P" springs and think they're great! Nice tight feel but not too harsh of a ride! A great setup for a great price if you ask me.

ive had 2 sets of strt.ts and a few of my friends have them too. They are shit. Every single person whose car had them on made all sorts of weird suspension noise. ive also seen many people on the internet have the same issue as well.

^another important thing to me is that I want a quiet ride. No squeaks or weird noises. What would you recommend then?

We've had a set on our 06 with Eibachs. It rides decent and no strange noises. I'd buy another set.

Currently running the STR.T's with FRRP "K" springs. I love this combo. Everyone has a different feel for what they consider a soft or harsh ride. I think the ride quality is perfectly sporty. It's smooth on the highway but you'll know when you hit a rough patch. But it's not so stiff you feel like its riding on rails. As far as noise, I've never heard a peep from them. Never felt any abnormal suspension issues. The car stays planted and is extremely predictable.

I have nothing but positive opinions of the STR.T's. For an entry level shock/strut, and its price, it's pretty sweet.

Edit: I picked up my set from jayman33 at Hypermotive. Great guy to deal with, they have great Koni deals from time to time. Jay gets it done and to your door quick.

I had horrible clunking and etc. It's a recent tech thread in the 2011+ section. I have video of the bad struts on and off the car. I felt no noticeable improve over the stock dampers.

Stock everything.

After a year or so on the orange Koni shocks/struts I had two noisy struts and one blown rear shock . It was lowered 1.5". Went back to stock springs/shocks and it's totally quiet now. Thought I had a bad strut mount or sway bar link but it was the strut.

When I first put them on it was great. Way more control than stock. They just didn't last.

Where would I get new OE shocks and struts besides a dealership? LateModelRestoration has some KYB shocks and struts that they claim are exact OE replacements but they're really cheap and im not sure how well they would hold up on lowering springs

I have the STR.T's and Steeda Sport springs. The ride is firmer than stock but not bad. I've had them on the car for the past couple of years with no failures or weird noises.

Ebay. Lots of OEM parts there. Could find a set of GT500 shocks/struts for a good price too.

I have my OEM shocks/struts still, boxed em up in the Koni boxes as I swapped them lol. They have 45,000 miles on them, none are blown. Could work out a deal if you wanted to go that route but TBH I think shipping would eat ya.

i have the STR.T's on my 2013 now. They are ok, but they are just an entry level set so i wasnt expecting them to be a huge improvement. Will eventually replace with viking rear / strange front.
