Didn't want to just swing for the ModMax billet crank, talk about a spendy piece

When I found out I was in need of a crank for my BB/S I talked to Sonny Bryant just to see what they offered. $3100 and it was "only" forged steel. I spoke with Velasco and they can fix my crank for around $450, but honestly I'm thinking when the time comes I might go back to a stock stroke crank.

Well after several set backs getting the new crank and everything lined out. I had to have the block a line honed because the mains were oval shaped from the motor failure. I am happy to report the main bearings and crank are in the block with .0020 clearance and ready for me to get back to assembly next week end. Also since posting in this thread, I have changed the main fuel supply line from -8 to -10. Getting real tired of it being on stands.

Sweet, get that thing back together already! And some pics would be nice (again) lol
Pics all look the same as the prior motors. Haha

What is this, round 6! 8.50 or bust, isn't that what I said... I got the 1/8 time to get close at 5.78 @ 123. If I had not had this failure the goal might have been met this year. After feeling a 5.78 leaving on the foot brake at 2500 rpms, there is no way I can stop now.

This last failure was the first that was not due to a fuel issue and by far the most damage. I really hated to loose my Kellogg crank.

I will take some pics as it goes back together though.

Round 6, here we go!

Owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww:helpme:

I am wearing my DOB shirt Jim gave me every time while putting the motor together this round. And after it is running, it will ride in the passenger seat at the track. I didn't put that passanger seat back in there with a five point for nothing.

I ordered the newer GT500 oil pump with the billet back plate and will swap the TSS gears in after it is here. My pump I have now has been though four motors. I think it time to upgrade. I also ordered some new ARP main side bolts sence I bought new main studs before the Aline hone.

Got the SS rings yesterday and the oil pump came today. So I went to work! Guess what happens next weekend on my 4 days off?
