I've been toying with the idea of putting Dynamat in mine for a while now. Interested in your results.

I'll be sure to post whatever pictures they do send me.
I did ask John to take some but we both know how that goes.
They get busy and the car is put back together and then they think about taking the darn pictures but it's after the fact.

The real important thing is, is it going to be {Noticeably} quieter and also less {Heat} coming into the interior.

I'm sure that's what you and I both want to know so I'll be back on here once I pick it back up.
I don't know when that will be as I did not bother asking because I'm much more interested in how well it's done versus how quick.

Same here. I am also curious to see what you think of the Dynamat. I'd love to quiet some of the gear/driveline noise from my car, and I am not to concerned about the few extra pounds (I recently lost 15 myself!).

Well my Good-Man I'm also interested in what the real-world difference will be.

Hopefully it will be a lot of noticeable different in Noise as well as heat-reduction.

Congrats on the loss of the Lbs that's always a good thing.

The older we get the harder weight is to keep under control.
I'm now back to trying to walk 3-miles 7-days a week.
That's what it takes for me to keep the lbs. off even with my diet.

I'll be back in touch on the Dynamat thing.

Chip, I tried the dynamat, and it was terrible. It killed at least five babies, and the gear noise ended up sounding like a dentist drill. Only solution was getting an S550, but your preference in the wrong blue might actually make it worse. Try lightning, I hear it helps with weight loss, makes spouses more agreeable, and the salvation army will donate their annoying bell money to you come christmas time.

If it was a spin fest with the 3.73's you're going to have an even bigger handful with the 4.10's. Time to invest in something else for rear tires. I'd suggest the stickiest drag radials you can find for street driving and then a dedicated set of slicks. At some point there's only so much horsepower you can put to the ground through street tires and rwd regardless of what you do with the suspension.

Well I can't speak for Chip but once I do get the call to come get mine I'll be sure to give you guys my Matter-of-Fact-Opinion on what I think of the Dynamat treatment.
You can rest assured guys I won't beat around the bush I'll tell you exactly what I think of it on mine.
I have no idea what monies we are talking about to have this done but I'm thinking in the thousands.
(Labor I think is $100.00 Dollars an hour)
So I'm hopeful it will be a noticeable change in Noise & Heat control.

Just got an up-date from John at DBR Performance on mine.

The Dynamat is totally completed.

There is another issue he is working on for me with a suspension racket over rough bumps.

He also said he did take pictures that he will send to me in an E-Mail once he is completely done.

Well it ain't gonna be long now as it has been.
This time it will be a hell of a lot quieter and hopefully No-Racket hitting the larger holes, uneven pavement etc coming from the suspension.
He is ordering that part today ............

Here are the pictures he just sent me of the Dynamat being installed.
He did tell me where it was installed and how much was used in the different areas.
The majority of it went to the floors and in the trunk area and behind that rear-seat-delete.
He also took the headliner down and did the roof.

I still want it quieter inside where I am and it is now that way.

I did not weigh the different Dynamat products that were used.

I do know that all together it probably did actually add maybe 80 to 90 Lbs (My Estimate) to the weigh of the Mustang.

You know we all can agree that this would not be for everyone and that's for sure.

Especially if one was racing (Drag-Racing) their Mustang but in my case that's just not any-longer a real consideration.

I'm not saying that I will no longer take mine to a drag strip and make some passes in it but that will be for fun in my case.

I have exactly what I want and that is a quieter, cooler (A/C) and totally functional Radio as in listening to XM Satellite stations or CD's with normal volume.

I can assure you that my Mustang is still Very-Fast even with the additional weigh of the Dynamat being installed.

Guys,

I just got back from DBR Performance and talking with John (Shop Mgr) and David (Owner).

They both drove the Bullitt and both are satisfied with the end results.

I did not drive it yet as I did not see the need to do so just yet.

It is still at DBR and john is going to now tackle the wiring issue that is causing the Line-Lock to BLOW the LED Bulb when you use the Line-Lock.

After talking with both of them the decision has been made for John to go in and completely rewire the Custom Panel so it all works as it should.
He will be doing that either today or this coming Monday.
Then once he completes that all of the LED and Buttons will work correctly.
I will then actually pick it up as it will be completed for the work DBR Performance was asked to do.

Also John showed me a lot more pictures he actually took of doing the Dynamat to the Bullitt.
He is going to send those to me so I can post them for you to see.


Below are pictures of the Custom Panel I'm referring to above that is not working correctly because of faulty wiring.

Guys,

I decided to do some weighing this evening of a few things.
You might very well find my findings of interest.

(1) I removed from the trunk a box that contained the contents of what was in my trunk and that was a weigh of, 40.6 Lbs.

(2) I use to weigh 212 Lbs and now I actually weigh 165 Lbs. so that is a savings of, 47 Lbs.

Combine the two of those and you get, 87.6 Lbs Total weigh savings.

Now I really don't know for a fact but I'm thinking the Dynamat probably does not weigh more than the 87.6 Lbs.

So taking both the weigh savings and probably the weight extra of the Dynamat it's like a total wash in regards to me not really changing the overall weight of the Mustang.

Just though some of you might like to know the above so it's not as extreme as perhaps some members were actually thinking adding the Dynamat treatment.

What you say is exactly correct IMO.
Think what the real weight of most guys are ???
A heck of a lot more than my 165 Lbs that's for sure.
The Dynamat installed is simply not going to actually have any real world effect period on mine.
Especially driving it 99% on the street on street tires.
The real effect on mine in regards to how quick it is, is traction ............

John (DBR Performance) found that some of the nuts on the front strut tower were barely tight at all.
The holes they are in are larger so it lets things move around and jar when going over any Rough Cracks, irregular pavement etc you hear a noise from the suspension.

It is now corrected with no parts needed.









John also has repaired the issue with the LED Bulb Blowing for the Line-Lock being engaged.
Turns out the wiring itself under the custom panel was okay.
What was causing the LED Bulb to blow was feed back from the line lock.
He installed a relay so that stopped the feedback coming back to that LED Bulb on the Line-Lock Btn/Switch.

So now it's all ready for me to come get it.
I just got the call from John a few minutes ago it's done.
He is also going to send the rest of the pictures where he did the Dynamat install.
I'll post them later on for those interested.

Car is ready for me to come get it I got the call from John yesterday late afternoon.
It was pouring down rain so hopefully I can go get it today.
My neighbor is going to take me this afternoon if all goes well.

I'm definitely looking forward to getting it back this time.

And your right summer will be gone before we know it so it's time for fun driving these Mustangs for sure.
