Hi, I am now running my 4th PA performance 200Amp alternator in 3 years and this one has been in since November last year.
The first 2 stopped working.
On the 3rd one the shaft broke resulting in a damaged timing cover.
And now this one is also starting to act funny.
Sometimes I get a 'Check Charging System' warning and then the voltmeter goes below the 12v.
When he is working it goes somewhere from 13 till 14.05 according to my SCT device that I use to monitor some parameters.
I usually get the warning at startup and after a minute or so it goes out and the voltage goes up.
Once it kicks in it stays working untill the next day or something.
What could be the reason that they are all failing? Is PA performance really that bad??
I have a 326 engine with a Edelbrock supercharger.
Any advice for me?
Thanks!!
Philip
