285 square here. Handles awesome but a lot of tire noise.
On these 10+ cars, you really can't see any stagger.... unless you are lying on your stomach, in front of the car, esp with the front lowered 1/2". 285 square is superb, so is 275 square. Typ a price jump when going from 275's to 285's. You can rotate with any square setup of course. Use too much stagger, and the car will have more of a tendency to under steer..which can be tuned out. If its a DD street car/ hwy cruiser, and loads of hp / tq / blower, then a wider rear, like a 305 makes sense...with a 285 front.
The OP has a 2010 GT, black, same as mine. Currently I use a 285-40-18 rear..and a 275-40-18 front, all 4 on 18 x 10 rims..and all 4 are ET-45. That puts the rears barely tucked inside the rear wheel well, with a tiny bit of sidewall sticking out, like 1-2 mm. That's with the WL watts link tweaked correctly.
I used steeda HD adjustable camber upper strut mounts, with the camber maxed out to aprx 1.9 degrees. That puts the front 275's well inside the tops of each wheel well. These cars handle better with some neg camber on the fronts. They brake + handle real good with either a 275/285 front.
Wider tires, + correct ET, increases the outside to outside track at both ends of the car. That's about as good as it gets. I have zero issues with tram lining, but forget what the toe is set to. I can't really hear any tire noise with the LT's, even at low rpm's... or coasting downhill, with eng off. (I do that once in a while, late at night, so I don't wake up neighbours)
