I'm one of the people that like the Gen7's better than the Gen5's.
Especially since the LED's in the Gen5's are not continuous, they have all the little LED's individually visible.
I guess they saved 3 cents/taillight having the Chinese manufacturer build them that way.

Yesterday I painted the chrome AMR center caps black using some adhesion promoter and some Rustoleum flat black.
No pictures cuz, you know, they're just center caps.
Gabe, this exactly what my pet peeve about the Gen 5's have been about all along. it's due to the LED's not being continuous and what turns me off the most about them, are all those little-dotted LED's that become individually visible which makes them look cheesy and cheap, IMHO. If only Raxiom/AM offered them with continuous LED's? I'd purchase the Gen 5's for my car in a heartbeat :)

Interesting look on the new tail lights. Did you have to do anything to make them fit?

Nope, pretty much remove inner-trunk plastic, unbolt/unclip old, bolt/connect new, replace plastic and voila. Took me about 30-minutes...and I'm old/slow.

Iceman62 I think the Gen 5 look so much better than the new Gen 7 style lights.

I'm torn too...the 1st/top pic shows both side-by-side and I was pondering look/style of each. I boxed the Gen5's for now and will decide later if I want to sell, or re-install. Will give them time to grow on me...thks for the feedback tho.

Overall, I also think the gen 5 tail lights look much better on the S197 over the Gen 7 style. IMHO the tri-bars of the gen 7 just don't blend in very well with the lower reverse and brake light sections at all, nor do they match up properly with the upper section of the rear bumper

I hear ya...that's why I'm holding on to the Gen5's for now...will see what works best over time - thks!

That's the same thought I have w/the Gen5's...never really cared for the little LED's & the price I paid for these Gen7's was worth the check to see if I preferred them over other(s)...got them for less than 1/2 of new. Ghunt81 gave me a great idea w/the tint on lower part of light to cover the reflector area...that's my next project - thks!

I definitely agree with Ghunt's idea with covering the gen 7's lower reflector area with tint. They appear to look much better from his images that he posted, IMO. Personally, I'm more than satisfied with the stock tail lights ever since adding my sequential tail light harness from Classic Design Concepts well over 9 years ago

The other thing I forgot about the Vectors, which was actually the main reason I originally tinted the reflectors, was the fact that a whole bunch of light from the taillights bleeds through the reflectors. I don't even understand why they allowed it to be that way and it makes the light look cheap, but the tint blocks it enough that it's not quite so super obvious at night.

I ordered a GT500 steering wheel on monday and it came today. It actually took longer to get out the tools then to swap the steering wheel. I got it off ebay brand new from a Ford dealer in Mass. LMR had it for 315.00 and I got it for 256.00. Not bad.

How did you guess????? Yes that's the one.

Hey also I'm looking onto making some 18" extensions for my jacking rails that will bolt on to the existing ones at the rear end and the other threaded bolt at the back location. If your interested I can make a another set. Not sure on price yet.

Lol, Quirk is the only Mass dealership I've found online with a cheap-parts website.
They do other brands too, not just Ford.
If you said Rhode Island I would've said Tasca.

And yeah let me know, I might be interested. The current rails work great, I kinda wish we got a set for the Shelby too

There was a big difference in driving and overall volume. Now when romping WOT it can get to Stinger volume. Idle is actually a little louder. Sounds more crisp and chops more actually. The borlas seem to mellow out or smooth out the idle more and hide some of the chop. But honestly big difference in driving. I would recommend to try again and drive with them.

Well I finally got around to doing this. Threw the MBRP's on the car and drove it for a couple days.

First off, Jesus those fuckers are loud. Not as bad inside the car as the chambered mufflers, still a little more than I would like. Outside they're just ridiculous. Definitely some rasp to them, but it has this raw sound to it that's a little addictive. Honestly found myself goosing it every chance I could get, I think keeping those on would get me in trouble.

So, the FRPP's are likely going back on and will stay on. They're the only ones I've tried so far that are agreeable inside the car below 2000 RPM (and I only paid $150 for them which really sweetens the deal). They don't sound as good at idle but I can't hear it inside the car anyway so what can you do.

I re-threaded and cut down the shifter alum. post to fit the Steeda shifter on the T56. It originally was 12mmX1.50 and the Steeda shifter was 12mmX1.75. Cut it down .375" to a good size.

/\ /\ How hard was that to do?

Pretty easy. Time consuming in that a bunch of little shit needs to be done to access the front cover and have enough room to work. PS pump, Water pump, fan assembly, drain cooling system, drain intercooler system. I did get a couple of specialty tools to help. Crankshaft positioning tool which wasn;t necessary but helped. Cam phaser locking tool was essential. I locked the cams down with a couple of vice grips so they wouldn't move while installing the chains but the locking tool is necessary as the vice grips will never hold while torquing the phaser bolt. But it wasn't that technically difficult.
