LS swaps on these cars are way easier than you think.

Not a chevy guy, but always liked the 68-72 chevelles. (70 is the best) I would drive one with an LS swap. Had a skylark I think it was, same chassis as the chevelle. But it was a stock 2bbl beater. lol Found a Daisy 760 in the trunk!

Godzilla is a great engine, as well as the coyote.. but they're also pretty damn expensive

This swap including the car will have cost me less than $5k but that's mostly because I'm doing everything myself.

The Godzilla will come down in price as more get released onto the market and used ones appear in junkyards. That said, you obviously weren't going to sit and wait for that to happen, and you had the ingenuity to do an engine/tranny swap that most people would just shake their heads at and say "no way Jose". You also deserve a lot of credit for doing the work yourself and keeping the cost down.
Your transformation of what was originally a V6 has certainly got my attention and it would be nice if you could post a parts list with a breakdown of the cost. I'm especially interested in how you're marrying the Chevy ECU and engine harness with the Mustang body harness, and tackling other challenges such as the fuel system, cooling system modifications/upgrades, custom mounting bracket for Mustang V6 AC compressor, and what gauges you used.

Do you also have gay sex? Its sex to some....

Just because it can be done, doesnt mean it should be done.

Ps: I was not offended at all.
His mom died. Are you also a homophobe? Closeted?

Godzilla is running in an s197, on youtube. 120 psi of oil pressure at idle right now. Will need to sort that out. Sounds mean!!

Yeah around the time the Godzilla hits junkyards the 3.7 and 3.5 ecoboost will be easily scooped up as well and a big turbo 3.5 would be a lot of fun.

It all nickel and dimes you to death, $20 here $50 there adds up quick.

The main expenses were the engine ($400), rear end ($300), shifter ($250), driveshaft (~$300, still haven't purchased that yet), holley 302-2 oil pan ($250), cheap headers ($100), and stuff like intake pipe, fuse box, wiring, etc all add up pretty quick as well.

The Mustang body harness stays mostly intact, I'm leaving the BCM and under hood fuse box to do all its non-engine control, using the stock Mustang starting circuit.

I'm using the stock fuel pump modified into a return style

I'm not keeping AC, the v6's AC didn't work anyways lol

The gauges wont work because they're controlled by the Mustangs ECU which isn't in the car anymore, I did see a swap where they kept it and added a bunch of Ford sensors to the Chevy engine in addition to all the sensors already on it to keep the gauge cluster functional.

I went a different route and 3d printed a tablet holder and making myself a fiberglass 3d printed tablet dashboard.. I included pictures of it in the gallery in the original post.. It's not done yet though but it's one of the big reasons I stuck with stock harness/ecu instead of Terminator X because I can interface a tablet easily with OBD2.

I like it!

In fact, I almost bought an LQ4 6.0L 4/28, however, I am now investigating a CNG 5.4L that I have a line on.

Hot rodding is all about swapping. Anyone serious about their rear end (car) is running a 9 inch. Famed Mopar drag racers Sox & Martin were asked, "how do you make a manual transmission live behind a Hemi?" They swapped in a Toploader. Arias made hemi heads for big block Chevy that were very similar to gen 1 392 Hemi heads. Now there are hemi heads available for the LS platfor. Doesn't Vorshlag LS swap S197s? They do everything else.

V is doing an s550 IIRC.

I want an LS7 and a T56. It might happen if I can do it before they outlaw gasoline powered cars.

What is a P51 ecu?

Oops, p59.. I got it and p01 mixed up.. it's a stock 2003 Silverado ECU, which is the engine that's in the car currently.

The 5.4 is a solid engine too, and junkyard available.. I probably would have considered it if I didn't fall onto the broken 6.2 for dirt cheap. Navigator block with 03 Cobra heads can make some good power for cheap.

I wanted to keep it a manual but t56's are so damn expensive even in broken condition. I was also looking at cd009 and ar5 transmissions too but couldn't get my hands on one from the local junkyards.

Friend had a 4l80 of unknown condition he got in a trade that he gave me to me, worst case scenario I have to pull a 4wd 4l80 out of the junkyard and swap the guts to convert it to 2wd.

My best friend is currently also in process of doing the LS swap into a S197. He is a Chevy fan, but likes the look of the S197 platform so I had a extra body shell that I let him use to get him back into racing. Car has a AJE tube k member which added to the ease of installing the 6.0. Trans is a Coan built TH400 which when coupled with the JPC TH400 crossmember it bolted right in with no modifications at all. The car still retains the factory BCM and underhood fuse box also. Electronics for this swap are being handled via Fast XFI system. Fuel system in this car is also a modified stock system. Exhaust is at the moment being handled by a pair of the Hooker Blackjack exhaust manifolds that fit perfectly. Cooling system at moment is just mocked up using a stock radiator and fan out of the mustang gt.

I myself am a Ford nut... my friend loves his chevy's... and the body shell he used will never be used on the streets again anyway, plus it allows him to get back out and start racing again too.

I ran across an ar5 on ebay.

FYI bob hanlon makes a plate that will bolt the TR-3650 GT transmission to your LS engine. I was considering this - but you only live once so I am dealing with a lot of pain to just buy a new T56 that will be the last box I'll ever need to buy - and this for my pickup. The mustang runs fine as is so it's a long term - end of gasoline car lifecycle project.

LS swaps into classic and Fox Body Mustangs were made easier by the compact nature of the pushrod OHV design and were popular because they're inexpensive, reliable, widely available, and lightweight (all aluminum). Nowadays the 7.3L Godzilla not only offers a much bigger displacement (and with it more HP/TQ potential), but it's a Ford thus avoiding this engine swap being labeled as sacrilegious, and it also fits between the strut towers of the same aforementioned Mustangs.
Credit to @smartass_garage for performing an LS swap into an S197. I don't know of anyone else who's done it so it's certainly unique.
I considered the Godzilla after lifting my heads on my 3v, Over 550 lbs..... that alone was enough to rebuild the 3V.

I inherited a 2013 Cadillac SRX with 25,000 miles and I love it and I own a 2005 Mustang GT and I love it. I like several Chevrolets or maybe more but I'm not ever pulling for them on Race Day or sure as hell will not put an LS motor in a Mustang. That's just unthinkable.

I've tossed up the idea of swapping everything from a 340 Mopar, SBC, BBC, Coyote, LS, 5.4L CNG, to even the engine out of my 08 GT500.

Transmission swap options included A833, TH400, or TH700R4. What I really want is a Lenco or Jeffco.

I guess it is all fair game for me. I like the 05-09 S197 body style, but all it really does is hold up the paint. My GT500 is different, I would only consider a later AL 5.4L, AL Coyote, or leave it alone.

P.S. I'm dreaming more and more about an LS swapped Prius EV.
