Hey mark, how did you like the BMR a-arms? Was it worth the upgrade? What kind of improvements did you feel
Its hard to say how well they worked/how much better they were then stock...since i installed them at the same time with the Ford racing suspension.

They ar lighter then stock..the bushing are better..maybe better ball joints also.

Love the rear diffuser. May I suggest going with a APR wing for more downforce? Also an APR splitter that covers the whole front bottom.
More aero would be nice..your right :)

..the Roush track wing looks good also..but i have to save up for a 315 tire package.

Very good IMHO..Do keep in mind i had the street versions with poly bushings, they worked nicely with the Ford racing suspension kit i had at the time.

Suspension setup #5

So i made the mistake of trackin the car again..this time in a race group filled with track only race cars for the most parts including Katech C-6R's and Aerial Atoms on slicks.
...

How'd you hold up against those C-6R's?

Also, how are thos Griggs brakes on the street?

i think i may go with those

You might want to speak with BMR and see if they can put the Steeda x-5 ball joints in them before they insert the H/D ford ones , They probably would take the cost of theres out ..so it wouldn't really be that much more .

I would think with the BMR arms and a set of G/C coil overs/Griggs ...thats going to be the best you can get without buying a Complete Griggs setup in the front which is Flat out the best but some people say the Agent 47 set up is pretty good also .

Just a thought:beerdrink:

That was the best day out at the track...lining up against 4 Katech 6Cr's (3 of them were race versions like the 24 hours lemans cars) and Atoms etc.

I kinda brought a knife to a gun fight..as most of the cars had slicks

Out of 15-17 cars in the field my Mustang was 6th or 7th..The C6rs were faster(posting 1:43-1:45's IIRC and the Atoms were pretty quick in the mid 145's..both cars on slicks)

I only lasted 3 seesions as i burnt the brakes up running the car hard (still on factory size rotors/fatcory brake calipers at that point)

That day at the track made me switch over the brakes and install the SLAs so i can maybe keep up with the C6r's next time.

The brakes are good...alittle noisey but good.

Nice. I ran 2 weeks ago with a C-6R who was out of my league. I'm running Griggs's ST. I was having heat soak issues with the Saleen s/c but I honestly don't think it would have made much of a difference.

The C6rs are monsters..the faster ones were within a few seconds of the track record....thats nothing to sneeze at.

But then again..they are very highly developed cars..race cars.

I don't expect to be able to beat every car out there,..just tossing it up with some of those exotics in a Mustangs a honor.

However since this is being built as a TTS car..i do hope I'll be able to hold its own in that class.

Heat soak SO far hasn't been a problem (I run cooler then most, with no ac condenser to block air, vented hood, better cooling system)

Heres a few quick pics ..I'll don't know how many people have seen a ATOM with slicks/full aero track kit(pretty rare)

Very informative...

Wicked Mustang to say the least.

I am surprised the stock size rotors and calipers actually were pratical to your level to this point.

Trust that a number of us are reading, not posting... keep the quality info flowing.

Thanks

Did you go hp/power ratio or add up the mods to get to TTS?

I added it up......and thats on the very edge of TTS i think..however after i start in the class they may bump me...After i get the big wheel/tire package more so.

I saw a guy in a pretty quick TT s197 running them years back.

TT guys (time trail) are real keen on eeking every last inch of performance from parts since they docked points for upgrades..He was running power slots and hawk race pads and turning times close to class records..However he had a nice air intake setup for the brakes..which made a huge difference.

I followed suit..until now.

This last time runnin with some quick cars..the brakes felt overloaded..They went from 60% to 10% on the left front in 3 sessions.

Lession learned.

Yeah, if I do the math 3230#/450hp =7.2. That puts you in TTU and you'll loose another .75 for tires once you go 315's (Hoosiers I presume) . I think you also have to stay above 3201# to avoid further points.

I'm no expert here so I could be totally wrong, but that's what I've been figuring using NASA website.

How long have you been at HPDE 4 level?

Just wondering, what were your lap times before you went to the Paxton blower?

It's almost hard to imagine that a Mustang could keep close pace with one of those C6Rs. Those are pretty serious looking track cars.

Infineons a pretty close track that favors handling vrs power.

The Mustang was in the mid 1:50's before the blower..it dropped to low 1:50's with blower suspension retuning.

The Vettes were in the low to mid 1:40's..which is a good amount quicker then i was that day.

The SLA front end should drop some time as should the larger/sticker tires.

I agree its kinda funny that a Mustang can run somewhat with a crowd like that...But hey Griggs says they can build cars that can give exotics a run for their money..i guess so, maybe.

I run the car in various events just so i can mix it up with different cars
