Well its good to see that your atleast back up and running! I think its rediculous that ford is just putting the same exact parts back in, which of course, is just going to cause the same exact problem in my eyes. Almost sounds like a class action law suit waiting to happen...

My clutch was supposed to be here yesterday. I talked to the Ford Service tech. He said they moved the date out to 10/30 from 9/30.

I then promptly called Ford Customer Service and bitched. I basically said my car has been down for over 30 days. I can file a lemon claim. They called me today and said that they will have a clutch for me Monday at the dealership.

My car isn't all that modded. Tune and exhaust. Been down the track 3 times. No reason the clutch should have failed. And yes I'm glad to have the car back. Feels great. Shifts great. The car is going in storage next month. So that gives ford plenty of time to get a revised part by spring

From what I see from the parts that were removed, the clutch itself didn't fail. It looks to be a bolt issue. The bolts either come loose from under torquing at the factory, or they're stretching. This allows the pressure plate to move around on the flywheel and it breaks the dowel pins.

A realistic fix for this should be new dowel pins and a new set of bolts torqued down properly. The clutch disc, pressure plate, and flywheel that were removed all looked great still. The only issues were the broken dowel pins and loose bolts.

i just picked my car up about an hour ago.. feels GREAT to have my sexy bitch back. and i was talking w/ my service advisor and he also said he believes its the bolts that hole the clutch to the flywheel that are failing as well. Turns out all my screwes were backed out and 1 dowel pin had broken off and was still laying in the bellhousing. The entire assembly was replaced, including the disk because the clutch disk was heavilly worn due to the lack of disengagement. i hope everyone gets thier cars back soon that still dont have parts!!

i didnt know the single would hold that much ? ? ? if thats the case i will just go w/ that the next time this is apart.. a twin turbo setup is going on this car over the winter.. but i dont see it making over 750 on the built shortblock so maybe a single disk setup will be just fine. thanks for the info kyoshosp2!!!

Unless your car was built before 4/25 the TSB on the pedal assembly won't apply to you. However they may still take care of you under warranty. That's shitty it happened so fast. When does the pedal stick?

when im getting into it, (high rpm's) i shift, and the pedal sticks to the floor, rpm's come back down, then the pedal pops back up.. whats really wierd is that it NEVER had the pedal problem w/ the old clutch??

I'm just guessing but I assume you didn't break this clutch in? Maybe it's just me but I wouldn't be raving my new clutch over 7k lol. Shitty you have a worse issue now. Let us know what the dealer says

clutch isnt broke in.. and i only tried to rev it and shift like that twice... how many miles should i "break it in"?.. i think i waited 500 miles before i was hard on the first one. regardless i wouldnt think the pedal would stick like that if the clutch wasnt broke in yet.. ? ? ?

I have no clue. I always take it easy for about 500 miles. Obviously the pedal is a separate issue. I hope they get this figured out soon

BUY THE ZO6!!

That I had an 09 I could no longer afford because my company cut salaries buy 20%.

A Z06 and the GT are not even on the same playing field. The z06 is better in every way.

Maybe do a little search... Those cars aren't perfect either.

i have heard that they have issues w/ the clutch fluid getting contaminated and make the pedal stick to sometimes.. but i never really did anymore research.

Sounds like Ford should have stuck with the 5 speed from the 05-10 stangs. How did they not see this issue when testing the 2011? I hope it all works out for you guys.

You should read a little better and realize any and all problems mentioned in this thread have nothing to do with the transmission.

It's a clutch issue. This is a brand new clutch setup that's not working out so well so far. Aside from that, the rest of the car seems to be doing really well.

exactly what he said!.. the rest of the car including the trans is GREAT!.. its just this damn clutch. but im hoping they get everything figured out so we dont have to take our cars back every 2 or 3 months due to clutch/flywheel failure. if an aftermarket clutch wasnt so much i would just snatch one up and take car of the problem all together.
