Tunning by speed density is a step back. With a blow thru maf you count exactly how much air is going to the engine right now. Not by a pressure reading that can be changed with temperature and barometric pressure. I will say however I would tune with MAF but i would love to have the map for reference or to crosscheck...

The made in china turbo it all depends. Master power is not ur cheap made in china. They are actually decent. I have friends with made in china turbo that run good and I have a friend that bought the under $1k turbo kit for a 95 gt. Went thru 2 turbos on warranty and just sold the 3rd one they sent him and bought a garrett. No problems after. It is all luck... I would save for a master power if anything than going really cheap on a part that if it breaks sends metal to the engine.

As a side note as well: Most people buy a new turbo w/o needing to do so... Most kits bring a 60mm turbo which you can put a new compressor wheel and upgrade to 70mm because it fits on the housing. A 70mm wheel costs around $100 for an oem garrett one. Hell you can even put in a billet wheel and still save more than half of what you would waste on a new turbo.

You do know that Master Power turbos are not made in China, right?

its not one of your cheap made in china but people refer to them as china turbos aswell. They think anything thats not garrett or precision or turbonetics sucks automatically...

havent started the install yet but glad to say we dumped the bb turbo and are awaiting the 67mm precision from lightblade. Lito said he can tune it once its installed so i may go with him or this new guy i found here at BoltonPerformance in Arkansas. I believe its the same guy that tuned Abdullagt's

Are you in Arkansas? Bolt on performance did an excellent job tuning it! I can honestly say I've never seen someone be so careful tuning a car! Took him a while to do it, but I'd rather it take a month and be done right, then to be done in a day and blow up within a month.

He charged me $500 for everything, though he did tow my car all the way from Conway. I was at APE this morning and the guys over there mentioned a gray mustang working on a turbo, I'm guessing that was you? Be careful with Matt, he's something else lol.

Master power VS Precision Billet....

I just swapped from a Master power 70MM/.81 A/R to a Precision 6765 67MM billet .81 A/R .The master power was a good turbo, 2 years,14k miles and not a single hick-up...551 to the rear wheels. Never smoked once i got everything woking good. I would be at full boost around 3500 RPMS.

The Precision is AWESOME in comparison! The lack of lag is incrediable. It spools damn near instant. I can hear it building pressure at a stand still by just revving the engine. I have almost ZERO boost drop between shifts as i used to.

Used to be when i was getting on it, i had time to look down and watch the boost gauge climb.....since i installed this bad boy.....i cant look down fast enough before im already at full boost......and between shifts im already at 5 psi by the time i can take a look.

Im VERY happy with the upgrade.....deminsions on the turbos were identical, it was a 15 minute swap. MP was great for a entry level and to get me up and going.....but im so glad i made the switch!

Lol. If that turbo that you bought needs a rebuild, take it to river city turbo off geyer springs. They completely rebuilt my turbo in a day.

I'm gonna use it as is first. Apparently the seals leaked but he didn't use a restrictor either so I'm gonna see how it goes. Then I'll get it fixed if there still is a problem. Abdulla pm me ur number so i can talk to you more directly.

If you want an upgraded turbo for this kit, if you bought it- i have a slightly used Precision 6165 up for sale @ a good price.

Holsets are supposed to be great, many people are switching to them with the now in question quality of the Garrett turbos.
I think that would be an HX52, which is pretty damn big but would support a lot of power (600+)
If its going to be a drag car or a roll race street car, it would be great. But if youre road racing or just looking for fast spool, its not going to do that.

I would look for an HX40
