my buddies 2006 has strait pipes back and no mufflers. can i do that on my 2008 and not have to retune? is there a adapter pipe i can use to elimnate the mufflers. i know this is a stupid question but i had to ask.

I am bored so I'm going to give you a serious answer.
You shouldn't have to retune, even with dat strait pipes back. And as for the adapter pipe, you should look into these: http://www.americanmuscle.com/axexlmo20mug.html
Or you can buy a "muffler delete kit" if you want more noise.

Or just go to a local meineke/muffler shop and have them remove your mufflers and bend some pipe to fit. Should run you 60-100 bucks plus muffler tips.
For tips you could cut your stock ones off the muffler and have them re-weld them on.

or just buy the pypes/slp muffler delete pips and DIY.
