sooooo.....did you originally have the shorter slave/TOB? and now you are putting in the taller (05-09) slave/TOB?

Another update and more speculation! lol

So with everything installed the 05-09 slave was 3/4 to 1" compressed! Which is why it wasnt fully disengaging the clutch and why it failed so quickly.

It just so turns out that the 2010+ slave is about 3/4 to 1" shorter than the 05-09 slave...

So it would appear I may have a 2010 6060 and the inside of the bellhousing is indeed shallower ie shorter amount of distance to the pp of the clutch from where the slave mounts.

So I ordered a 2010 slave and hopefully should be in business, more to come!

Jason looks like you were definetly on to something! And there may be a physical difference after all in the trans/bell housing on the 2010 6060s.

If anyone has a 2010+ 6060 and not just a 5th/6th gear ratio swap please post up your setup!

Out of curiosity I checked... The 07-09 and the '10-'12 TR6060 all have the exact same part number for the Bellhousing part of the trans. So the forward part of the trans is the same for all the years.

Also, The clutch TSB for the '07-09 GT500's have you replace the long slave with the short slave, but also install the newer '10 clutch. I think it has more to do with which clutch is in there, and more specifically the depth/thickness of the clutch.

In your case, your new clutch must be the same dimensions as the '10 twin disc, so you'll need the '10 style short slave.

That's all I can come up with.

Makes sense as well. I will get on the horn with Mcleod and see if they made any changes in their 26 spline ford rst clutch between 07 and now.

Have you been able to check out a 07-09 gt500 clutch vs 2010 yet?

No. I missed my chance. I have a used '08 clutch sitting here, and when the '10 clutch showed up, it got pulled and installed before I could get pics of it. We're doing another one in a KR next week so I'll have to jump on the chance as soon as it shows up.

Also if any one has pics of the inside of the bellhousing and input shaft of their 6060 please post them up.

What problems are you having?

Along maybe unrelated hard cold shifts plus problems getting into 2nd and third quick enough, the issue that I see relating to yours is having the biting point way too high, I feel the clutch is not completely released even that it do not slip at all.

I have heard of the cold issue in general, the rest im not sure. I do know with the car off it shifts like buttter in all the gears. So if it goes in fine like that may very well be a clutch/slave issue.

I have my tranny bolted up and I can already tell you FOR SURE the bell housing is deeper than my 3650. Has anyone spec this out to see if maybe the problem is just with us guys that has done the swap from the 3650-6060? I wish I had read this 6hrs ago jermey cause I could have got some pics of my clutch, slave, etc
Try a ford dealer this morning if you can afford to shell out the extra money they may have one in stock.
