It's interesting to me that the much-lighter wheel and tire combo didn't perk up the trap speed more, especially since the DA was close to 1000' better on this last trip. Headwind/tailwind playing a factor? Or is the horsepower nosing over so much at around 117mph in 4th gear that it just doesn't want to go faster than that?
I, too, wonder what's happening at 117 mph. My 1/8 mile speed is up nicely, but the 1/4 mile speed didn't budge. Car doesn't shift into 5th gear until just after 120 mph, so there's room to stay in 4th. I've had the car into the 140-150 mph range on longer stretches and it pulls hard all the way there. It was rather windy on race day, though, with the winds changing direction a lot. I guess I just don't know what's happening. Racing again next weekend.
