For all those who have done the Meziere Electric Water Pump with the relay kit...

I need help finding a 12 V key on source under the hood close to the fuse box.

Thanks!

When I installed my wideband, I went into the BEC and piggy backed onto the output from the fuel pump relay. I wanted to make SURE that the WB had heater power if the car was running. I can imagine you have the same concern with a water pump.

To get the power, I removed the BEC, took the cover off the rear connector block, found the correct wire and then wrapped the signal wire around the terminal then soldered it in place. It's worked like a champ for driving my LC-1 and I know it would have no problems driving a relay to power your water pump.

What would be REALLY nice is if Ford would sell the contacts individually so we could add extra relays and fuses to the BEC itself. It's not like there is not usually several open spots available. But no contacts, so you can't just add your own without some kind of hack.

I believe I have done what you are looking for when I did ny Saleen SC. I'll get a pic later this evening if you still need the info. I think the JDM intercooler pump relay to replace the crap Saleen timer uses a key on power source.

There's several switched-on circuits inside the BEC. Most can be found tied to the 3 PCM power-on relays. My first 'tap' into that was on the PCM #1 relay output, where I attached a wire to the relay output pin and ran the wire out the BEC, to my wideband controller box (through a fuse of course).
Recently, since I do not have a vert, I made a simple change so that the 2 convertable top relays are now used as switched-on power sources, using the relays in the 2 spots, to provide power to wideband and soon to electric pumps and whatever else I need. If more power is needed, subsequent relays can be fed from that.

This is probably what you need:
An easy tie-in for switched power, if you dont pull much from it (such as to feed the coil of another separate relay), is to find the Red/yellow wires from the BEC and tap into those wires. That is usually power to injectors, IMRC, Evap, O2 sensors, etc., all switched power. You don't want to add a big load to those circuits as you could blow the fuse, but for feeding another relay, it's a reasonable option.

You want to know where the best place to tap for your W/P is? I forgot which # it is in the box, but it is the fuse that runs the cruise control. What is really neat about this locations is that it's an engine running power source, not a key on source. That way your electrical pump runs just as your mechanical one did. It's only spinning when the engine is spinning.

Of course I have an auxilary cabin switch set up to run the W/P and hi-speed fan when the engine is off also.

The other cool thing about this location is that it is what I call a non-essential circuit. Meaning if something goes wrong with the added wiring, it won't effect any systems needed to run the car. Again I forgot the #, but in the schematics, it's the only engine running power source listed, as opposed to the key-on and contant sources.

Thanks a lot again i will look for that one. that is what i was looking for so i don't affect the injectors or anything else.
