Both heads have been assembled (sorry for the crappy picture)

Both head gasket surfaces of the block are clean & dry

OEM head gaskets installed

Both heads installed, ARP studs (Part# 256-4202) lubed with ARP assembly lube and 12 pt. nuts torqued in 4 steps:
10 ft. lbs.
30 ft. lbs.
70 ft. lbs.
100 ft. lbs

funny you mention that but no I haven't yet. Never realized how often my big feet are in the pictures until just a few minutes ago.

Don't want to forget to reinstall the 4 plugs removed from the cylinder heads to clean the oil galleys

New gaskets (3L3Z-6C285-AA RH / 3L3Z-6C286-EA LH) for VCT housings

I posted part numbers on items that your average Parts Dept. won't have a clue where/how to find. Just trying to save everyone some headaches trying to come up with these part numbers.

Are you, or is there any reason in particular you aren't doing the head cooling mod? Lot's of progress over the weekend :beer:

Seeing how close the head is to the firewall....what are you going to do when/if the fitting begins to leak? Race car is one thing but a daily driver?

Obviously you are referring to a mod which I am not aware of for the 4.6L 3V. The only cooling mod I have found is for the 4.6L 4V.
