I won't be using the power steering pump or ac condesor ither .... Mine should make some killer power if I go through with it all... Comp just released their first set of cams too..

Realistic I can see these motors making 500+ at the tire on a stock bottom end when the cams come into effect... and make power up to 8000. This is the make or break deal in the NA game and if I want to go correct I feel the 5.0 heads is the key.

Did I miss the news about aftermarket cams?

Very LS1 of them, don't you think?

The oil pan gasket and windage tray are 2 seperate pieces on an LS1. The factory gasket is actually pop rivetted to the oil pan which is cast aluminum. So, no, it's not at all like an LS1 unless you are talking about the simple fact that it has a windage tray.

with 2 valve heads -_-

:deadhorse:

They should of made a set of 4 valve heads fit that motor and went for big power

What do you think this is, Burger King? It's not always our way :chairfall:

Hurry up and stuff one in your car so I can follow suit  Got an LSX sitting in my way screaming "454 small block," don't make me do it!

They did. It is the 6.2 engine.

Unless said 6.2 engine is all aluminum and has 4 cams and 32 valves, then no they didn't. I too wish they had gone a little further with the new 5.0L in regards to bore spacing.

I need to save up my pennies for this swap... I am weighing out all my options lol and I still have alot of work to do to the actually chassis... Cage, axles , rear brakes, new brake lines, scatter sheild etc etc

It might not happen this winter but I will have it for next summer when it counts xD

Ok, that's been out for a while. There was even something on Comp's FB page, then it was removed that same day or the next day.

There's still no info on their website about the cams

Word.... Ither way they are going to come out eventually and they will make stupid jam :roflmao:

I know where there are a few of them.....and I'm trying like hell to get my greedy little claws on 'em! And if you check the blocks closely you'll see some interesting provisions for different cylinder heads.

That punches all kinds of holes in my theory that the 6.2L will never be a production Mustang engine. However, my theory is based on the it being an iron block with 2 valve heads.

If Ford is testing these with aluminum blocks and 4V heads, then it's certainly possible it'll be the replacement for the outgoing 5.4L.
