Called Ford today looking to see if they had the pigtails 3u2z*14s411*vba and 3u2z*14s411*sfa so I can finish up and wire my speedo and reverse lights. They said they have to order them and the first one I have listed is $42 and the other one is $40.. JESUS! What a rip off...

No new news on the tuning issues. Car still runs so terrible it won't move from the garage. I don't want to damage it, so its parked until i hear back from the tuner.....

I believe my speedometer issue is tune related bc I followed the wire guide and bought the correct pigtail and it's 100% wired correctly. It still doesn't move if I drive down the block, or try to.. The tune still has major drivability issues. I am beyond annoyed and over this whole tuning bullshit. I hope something changes soon..

The positive is, I fixed my speedo today. I had the correct wiring but te crimp style method didn't work for me. I tore off the heat shrink and ended up soldering the wires together and it works!





This was what I originally used and it didn't work..

Also that big box(neutral safety for the auto is no longer there.. I cut both wires out of the 12pin plug to solder together which allows the car to start. These are older pix from last week.

Don't sweat It bro, it was just a bad crimp connection.. Soldered it up today and it works.

Yeah, that is one thing. Another thing is the tune, couldn't the dealer reflash the auto pcm to accept a manual or is it the other way around?

A knowledgable tuner can easily reflash the auto pcm with a manual strategy.

Sucks that I won't find a Stick Screaming Yellow GT for around my price range in my area. Only Yellow GT in my area is an auto, one about 300 miles is a stick, but it is just out of my price range.

Bro I'm no mechanic, anyone with basic knowledge can do this swap. I def learned a lot though. Great experience for sure! I'd still recommend this swap to anyone.

Guess that's true. I don't know, If I was to buy the auto, I would have to wait to make some extra cash and buy the parts for the stick swap. Living in Canada, the part resources are less then what they are in the states and are a bigger problem/more money to get them here. We will see what happens. Atleast you got yours running and everything! Did the tune ever get solved?

I haven't updated it for certain reasons, but yes the car has been running for a few weeks now, flawlessly.

My local tuner could not get my car running after 5-7 tunes that he sent me and weeks of time, I asked if I could datalog it for him or even trailer it to his shop (30mins away) and have him dyno tune it so he could see exactly what the car was doing. His response was "it really isn't any different than what we are doing now"...

I thought to myself, if that is the case why is he email tuning, remote tuning or dyno tuning?? Why are some way more $$ than others..

Seriously man, he just seemed that he could not be bothered with me. So after weeks of nothing, I ended up telling him I wanted a refund as my car was completely useless.. He was not happy about that, so I said in all fairness you put time into those email tunes, but since my car never was usable lets just split it. I get half the money back. Thankfully he agreed and that was the end of that.

Fast forward a bit, I originally talked to Lito as I was acquiring parts for this swap and I knew by his PMs he knew his shit. I simply chose the local tuner b/c I figured if I had issues it was only a short drive away and he could get me up and running. Boy was I wrong. I got back in touch with Lito and the FIRST file he sent me to datalog ran 100%. Sure there was a little tweaking that he wanted to do which I expected, but overall drivability was spot on.. The car ran as if it came straight from Ford with a 5spd. I was blown away, his tuning abilities are amazing and hats off to this guy! I have put about 700 miles on the swap since I got tuned by Lito. Car runs amazing, NO CELS, NO SPUTTERING, 100% perfect ride. Can't say enough good things about this man. He truly saved my ass on this one!

Here is a few little clips stuck together of driving the new setup around town. Mainly easy driving b/c I wanted to break the clutch in right. However I did do like two 1-2 shifts at WOT, just not to redline.

Man the car feels like its brand new again! Here is to another 90,000+ miles =). I know the car is faster than it was with the automatic. It feels great. So happy.

No, if anyone tells you that- ignore any advice from them. You do NOT need a manual PCM. I am using my automatic pcm and automatic wire harness. The only thing that does not work is the cruise control, but I think I could figure that out if I cared enough. I never used the cruise control to begin with so I am not bothering with it now. When you do the swap with retaining the automatic pcm/harness, as stated above in my thread you have to rewire reverse lights and speedo. That is the one disadvantage of going that route (but it is extremely easy to do), well that and potential tuning issues if the tuner is not able to get it done right (like my original tuner).

Thank you! I may tinker with it once I have free time after graduation. I'll keep this thread updated if I attempt this or find out how to do it. I don't think it will be that extreme, but time will tell.
