If it is anything like when I had to replace the crappy ones that came with my Kooks headers you are going to have to get under the car as well. You need to loosen the bottom bolts all pretty good below the headers, loosen wherever the header connects to the mid-pipe so it can twist a little and you'll need to take out the top bolts on the headers.

On the Kooks, the bottom header flange bolts are a P.I.T.A. to get to..have to use a ratcheting wrench with a pivoting head otherwise it will take forever and a day.

I used FRPP gaskets, from AM. They come with D shaped holes, like oem.

Use a set of factory MLS gaskets. Will never leak.

I have the tuned bbk shorties and my car dynoed damn near what similar cammed 3v cars with long tubes did on same dyno per my tuner. They were a nightmare to install tho.

Could you post your dyno sheet and tell us what other mods you have?
I'm not surprised the shorties were a nightmare to install; they take nearly as long to install as LTs.

I have the bbk tuned length headers. Installed it when the motor was out but looked like a bitch to install if it was on car cuz of all the tubbing. It covers the engine mount bolt so it's very tight fit. But other than than no fitment issues at all and no leaks using their gasket and hardware.

I had JBA Longtubes and it used to rub on the passenger side k-member causing vibrations when turning and first gear roll outs. The power difference is noticeable though. Maybe actual HP/TQ don't show it but car was more peppy with the LTs.

My car came to me with BBK Ceramic LT's. They were installed in late 09 and still look damn near perfect!! Could not be happier.

I have the standard shorty headers and the stock gaskets are junk. I had leaks on both sides after I turned the boost up a little on the turbo. JPC installed a new set of stock gaskets and said that they should last better than what the BBK's come stock with.

Had BBK shorties on my car before I swapped them out for longtubes but never any issues with them, they were ceramic coated and pulled them off after 30k miles and they looked like I just pulled them out of the box

I have the BBK "tuned" length shorties.

Are these supposed to be equal length headers?

I have the shorties on my setup, but the stock gaskets will leak. Just use factory gaskets and you should be good to go.
