Would a 3:73 gear change and a 93 octane tune on my 07 GT kill my gas milage?

Thanks, I did these mods and I seem to only get about 14 mpg now, can't think what else it might be.

Damn that doesn't sound right. I had intake, tune, 4:10's, udp, lt headers, offroad x, full exhaust, and trying my best only got it down to 16.2mpg.

OP-I agree with you, with all my mods I only see 14-16 mpg. I have not taken the car on a road trip to see what the MPG would be on an extended highway trip and only have 4500 miles on the car...I am an automatic so I don't know if the manual tranny would make any difference.

Sounds wierd. My Bullitt has 3.73's, 93 Octane Brenspeed Tune, FRPP Stingers, FRPP Shorties and with mixed highway/city driving and even playing around on the street and highway at high speeds I get between 19-20 MPG. What was the MPG before the gear change and tune?? Maybe your driving style changed?? Alot of factors could contribute...

I usually average around 11-12 in the city with some spirited driving, doesn't bother me one bit.

you prolly need to set the revolutions per mile in the tuner... the tuner defaults to 500 rev.s per mile, i changed wheels to the 09 GT wheels and 235/50 KDW's... i had to change the rev.s per mile from 500 to 760... go online to tirerack or somewhere and see how many rev.s per mile your tires make and set it in the tuner, reflash the computer and see if it changes the gas mileage...

I have 3.55 gears and a 91 tune. In town I get about 17.5 when really ripping on it. On the Hiway with the cruise set at 70 I get 23.5. Right after I got my brenspeed 91 tune put on I would only get about 14mpg at the best. Even on the Hiway. I think it was a shitty tune. I switched to BBR tune and it has sooo much more get-up and alot better fuel milage. I'd try a BBR tune(BlowByRacing.com)
