Yes I'll take some pics tomorrow and try to post them. Just got moved in to my new house so I only can use my cell phone until my internet gets hooked up Friday (boooo) =P

The reason I wanted the mrcolor kit or whatever the name of it was is it looks easy to use with pretty awesome results. A few spots have already been touched up by the previous owner and they did a pretty terrible job. The dab and smear looked like it worked great!

Edit: Well I took it through a car wash and took pics but it won't let me upload pics from my phone, will have to wait until tomorrow night when I have internet for my pc again.

I tried Reflect once on a Benz and it was incredible. I was going to polish out mine and apply CQ UK next weekend but there's gonna be a heat wave.

What speed setting were you at?

Is the Reflect equal to or better than the Menzerna P4500?

I haven't tried it on my paint yet but the one time I used it on a Benz, like I stated - incredible! I was using my 3401 with a hybrid white polishing pad because of the Benz's hard clear. Imo, best polish I have ever used with no dusting and super easy wipeoff. I wish I had the chance to use a finishing pad which I'm sure will produce even better results.

I never really had any luck using 4500 but that was also when I was a super newb. For the price of Reflect, I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed!

I love reflect. No dusting and looks amazing. It works extremely well on our cars to.

I was hoping you would chime in :thumb:

I have a lot of sf4500 that I plan on selling because I will be re placing it with reflect. I did my car a month ago or 2 with ft 400 and it left some slight hazing/ micromarring. Reflect go it out and made it shine real nice

My internet should be hooked up tonight so I can post pics of the paint chips. Really hoping I can get it back in good shape.

Omg where to start??? No seriously, you definitely have some buffer trails, oxidation and swirls, including some deep scratches. Imo, I believe based on what I can see from the pictures, you can get 80-90% paint correction done. Dam you have hella paint chips!

If it was me, I'd take the time to do paint correction (compound/polish) then I'd fix all the chips. As I recommended, go with Ford Motorcraft Touch-up paint, its better quality and cheaper than Dr Color-chip.

Hopefully 00blkvert and timmbo can chime in to share their thoughts.

What is compound? Also which polish do you think I should use? Yea it's in pretty bad shape imo. I bought it with 97000 miles on it and it's about to turn 101. Also I bought the car I in the winter so it's just now warming up enough to where I want to mess with it lol.

I don't have a buffer thing, I was planning on doing it by hand or is that impossible? If so what is a decent cheap buffer I could get. Looking for a list of recommendations to get it back in to shape for a good price. I was thinking hand wash it, polish it, then touch up paint (or when should I apply the touch up paint?), then sealant, then wax.

You may have also noticed that some of the chips have been covered by touch up paint already and they kook terrible. How would I shave that down? And when I apply the new touch up paint should I still do the dab and smear method with the Ford touch up paint... I want to do whatever method makes it look smooth and not like little blobs of paint that stick out like it currently has =X

As 28one mentioned I would defiantly consider a paint correction. I posted a little kit earlier.
http://www.detailersdomain.com/Grio...Orbital-Polisher-Swirl-Remover-Kit_p_704.html

This kit is 300 but it includes a great starter DA, pads, towels, a compound, finishing polish, and a sealant. I also have a 10% discount code I can hook you with since he is a vendor on another forum were on.

Compound is your deepest cutting products, then polish, then finishing polish/jeweling polish. This also is not worth doing by hand it's not going to do much.

You want to stay on a smaller budget then here is a list of some things.

This buffer

This backing plate so you can use 5.5" pads vs 6.5", this will give you more power plus easier to work with.
http://www.autoality.com/store/pc/B...e-D-A-Backing-Plate-103p6342.htm#.U3gZ-GBOXIU

These pads 2x orange 2xblue 1 red

This compound

this polish

then the final product of your choice whether or not you get wax or sealant. You also need clay bar but you can buy that over the counter

you will need to wash it, clay it, re wash, compound, polish, sealant or wax for the short version.

For the chips I would do Dr colorchip as mentioned or the other way I posted. they are your 2 best bets. The colorchip black is very very close to our black.

Great info 00blkvert!

One additional note to add Justin, in case you're considering having a pro detailer do the paint correction for you, it would cost a whole lot more than the kit 00blkvert linked. In the end, with your own supplies, just like quite a few of us here, you'll be able to do your own paint correction.

What buffer? You put "this buffer" but the link isn't next to it =P

Hey, I got my M90 installed and it's time to start working on those nasty paint chips!

I was wondering if it'd be okay to do the paint chips first, then do the compound, polish and sealant later? I'm a little broke lol after this build and still have to buy a lawn mower and weed-eater for my new house =X

I did find a friend at work that has a buffer I can use and I'd just need to get my own pads. Actually he has two... which one should I use? One rotates full time clockwise, the other keeps switching directions, don't remember what he called it but it rotates right then left then right then left really fast. Supposed to help prevent swirls or something. Curious which one I should borrow in your opinions?

And for the final decision on the touch up paint... the touch up paint I can get from ford, can I actually go to my local ford dealership and pick it up you mean? Also, is it as easy to use as the drcolorchip - by that I mean dab, smear, and wipe off after a couple minutes and it will fill in the same like in the drcolochip video and not look out of place? I just really don't want it to look out of place like the touch up already on it.

Also how would I get the current touch up paint off to re do it since it looks so bad?
Thanks again =)
