Thanks for the post JJ!

American Muscle was all over my ass when I advised them to lower their price. They chose not to and now I suspect that anyone who pre-ordered from them will cancel. I wouldn't be surprised if those folks get charged with a "restocking fee" for a virtual item.

I cannot stand bullshit vendors. It is refreshing to see folks like yourself who are here to help the community. :)

Does anyone know if these are going to come with new gaskets, or if they are available yet?

These use individual O ring type gaskets on each port, not one gasket per side like a 4.6, don't know yet if they lose their shape when pulled out of the groove in the old intake, but I think probably not. Part number BR3Z-9439-A , same as a 2011.

Cool thanks guys. I am a rookie when it comes to this new stuff.

I have been playing with pushrods 302's and 351 stuff for the last 10 years.

We will have one of these intakes in our hands in a day or two and will do a back to back dyno test of it. We will also document what it takes to make this intake work compared to the stock unit. Pictures and all will be included in a new thread.

Stay tuned. ;)

JJ

THANK YOU!

^ Second this. I hope the results are good, for $399 (at some vendors), this is a steal if it makes good power

I called Brenspeed this morning to see how much they are going to sell theirs for since I don't get free tune updates unless I buy parts from them. I was quoted $559 + shipping. I guess I'll be paying the $35 tune update price and not getting it from Brenspeed.

Yea i wont be getting one until a year from now. I'm betting they will be 299 range before you can turn around.

I don't think the $399 includes shipping, at least not on the one site where I saw it for $399. So keep shipping in mind as you shop around.

Thats what im waiting for. It could always backfire though. They could make us show proof in the future its going on a BOSS by providing a VIN number and then the price triples because its hard as hell to get. Im also holding off because a shop on here ( not naming them ) told me they tested this manifold a couple weeks ago and already have a tune for it, and it made 12hp peak. So yeah.... id like to see some people buy them first and see some dyno graphs too.

Or less, already. List price for this manifold(CR3Z-9424-A) from Ford is currently $331.05 and it usually isn't hard to find a dealer that sells for 25% off list, so figure something like $248.

I'm calling my buddy at Ford tomorrow and giving him that part number to see what I can get it for. If he gives me the hookup, I'll let you guys know.

It will show backorder until 3/21.

This is pretty common when a new vehicle is about to ship, some part numbers get activated with really low prices. In the past I've bought things like new aluminum 4.6 blocks for $190. You get your parts, keep it on the low down, and no problem.

But in this case someone decided to get greedy and order 25 of them, mark the price up by a ridiculous 80%, and spam the forums about it. This pissed off the Ford racing guys who can't sell theirs until April 1st. So now all of the Boss parts are set to backorder status, ruined for everyone due to this person's greed. They didn't even do a good job of being greedy, could have bought assembled Boss longblocks for about $5k instead of piddly intake manifolds.
