Marc-did you try a test fit in the stingray?
I did, actually. In reality, the problem is that the B pillar is too far back. At my size and with my disabilities, I found that I had to hoist myself out of the car using the back of the seat and the steering wheel instead of being able to lean on the body. I wasn't too bad, but it was a little tough. Also, I felt like after a few years of that, the seat would be pretty jacked up.
Just curious as to why you "settled" for the SRT when the Hellcat is $10K more; I know $10k is a lot of money but at that price I would assume if you could afford $50k you could afford $60K?
A few things contributed to me getting the 392.
The Hellcat can not be found around here. I actually talked to Farrish, Lindsay, Lustine, Ourismen and Koons. All of them said that they are "order only". According to Dodge Customer Service, the closest one in stock is in Prince Frederick. I am an impulse buyer. it would have driven me nuts to wait for an order and I'm not driving 3 hours round trip on a maybe or to shop for a car.
Plus, the GT500 has 660+ HP and gets about 10 miles to the gallon... not trying to add a second car to the list of "weekends only" and if I really want to boogie, I can climb in that. The NA 392 is actually getting about 17 miles to the gallon. I know, not great, but I don't feel as bad about it.
The other reason is, I buy a lot of car from Cowles Ford and Lustine Dodge/Jeep. When we go, there is no BS. They know I am a good customer and they take care of me. The 392 was sticker priced at $53k and had a $5,000 ADM. The Mustang I traded booked at $27k. Lustine sold me the 392 for just under $50k out the door and gave me $31k for the GT. It was one hell of a good deal.
What mods are there for the SRT's?
Thanks!
Everything... CAI's, turbos, superchargers, long tube headers and all exhaust, gears, suspension, heads, cams, etc... basically anything you could think of for the Mustang... its out there for the Challenger. Big difference is, the selection is a lot more limited.
