Yes, the Spec 3+ is mightier than the shaft.
Good news was, the tranny practically fell of the car when the got the bolts out, as opposed to the usual PITA maneuvering.

I have a spare tr3650 sitting in my garage with 36k miles on it that if you want i can do 400 shipped. i also have stock clutch and flywheel if you needed. has a hurst comp shifter on it as well

This is the reason why I scratch my head as to why clutch manufacturers build clutches to withstand 600+ Ft/lbs for a transmission with a 10 spline input shaft.

Yeah, I knew the 10 spline was a weak point, but figured I'd fix it when it broke. Well, it broke.
Would recommend any one out there with a 10 spline and over 450hp to not to try barking the tires into 3rd unless you have the time for a tow.

Pulled the trigger. T56 Magnum XL, Mcleod RST twin disk organic clutch and steel flywheel, Dynotech 3.5" driveshaft, stainless steel clutch line, new slave and bearing, cross member, shifter and ball, and some ARP flywheel bolts are on the way.

Yes, I want to get it fixed and get it back.
My car has only spent one night in a shop in the past 7 years up, until now, and that was when I was helping put the clutch in. Not happy about it being broke and out of town. But I'm sure Mike will take care of it.

exactly what I was thinking!! Good move Brady especially if you are going to keep the car. Its wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy to clean and nice to get rid of. Chasing the weakest link always digs deep into the pockets.

Nice. Looking forward to seeing a future engine build someday on this car with that nice new tranny! Clutch changes will be a breeze in the future too. Since we're running about the same hp I sure hope this doesn't happen to me. I'm still on the stock clutch at 26k miles.

Thanks! If you are still on the stock clutch, my guess is it will give/slip before the input shaft snaps. My stock clutch was replaced at 17K miles, right after I put the KB in. Stock clutch was just slipping a tad when shifting hard into 2nd, but it was probably saving my input shaft from shock as well. It looked great when we took it out. The Spec 3+ is unforgiving, and it never slipped.
