Testing performed on a 2007 with built engine, good cylinder heads, mild cams and 9.4:1 compression. Power adder is a ProCharger P1-SC pushing 15 psi of boost. Initial testing was a simple manifold swap and no tuning. This resulted in only 10 hp increase at the peak. However, once the A/F was straightened out and one degree of timing was added back in (it was down one degree from the "before" test for some reason) the manifold responded quite well with a 40 hp/30 tq gain.

Even ProCharger says you should not be able to make that kind of power with a P1. However, when you have a good engine with good airflow to begin with.....big power isn't that hard to make.

Wow.. Shows you how well the 3 valve flow to begin with in that he didn't really gain much until 5500 RPM's.

You can count me as a satisfied C and L customer. I have a P1SC HO (bottom tier kit). When I talked to Procharger they said Id be lucky to get 10 psi with my motor, head, cam, manifold, combo. On the dyno it made 14psi and right at 600whp. I called PC and they didnt believe till I faxed them the dyno sheet and they were amazed.

Who did you talk to at ProCharger?

Its been since December. Dont remember his name. Think the tech was trying to talk me into upgrading to a stage II kit.

I still think he was being honest about it. I think the combo of big heads, big cam, and big manifold surprised us all, to include Procharger.

Thanks for the results SD. I plan on buying a C&L very soon. I saw another test a few weeks ago where the C&L made over 55hp on a 3V with a D1.

I think you will be happy with it. Our Prochargers seem to love this manifold. Plus you have a D1......Watch out!

I'm not surprised. When I sold my car I de-tuned it at the buyers request, and it still made 608rwhp on 12psi with a P1. It felt like a turd to me too, cause I had been running 18psi for 2 years prior to selling it. Had to be close to 700rwhp... Not sure what the numbers were at 18psi though, because we finished tuning it on the street when I stepped up to 18psi...

SD, when I install my new shortblock I plan raising the boost to around 20lbs and installing a small fogger setup in the C&L intake to help produce HP and cool the intake air temps. Do you know if this has been done with this manifold with good results?

We did it on an F1 car with a two stage system. Two nozzles in front of the throttle body. Worked just fine. Plug readings were very consistent form cylinder to cylinder. The manifold really evens out the distribution.

did you loose a lot of low end power?

Didn't lose a damn thing (except the rods on the fifth pull). From 3000 rpm up to 6500 it picked up power all the way.
