^I hope the fun factor in a 3V with a mild bolt-ons is somewhere between the coyote and your wife's gxp! :)

I should go test drive a used 5.0 for shits 'n giggles to see what I'm missing. (or maybe I shouldn't?! LOL)

My wife had a 08 GT with exhaust/bolt-ons/alum d/s 4.30 gears/full suspension and she drove my old 2011 GT/CS(had bolt-ons and converter) one time and she went shopping for a Coyote the next day!

I'm tempted! I'm shopping for a new suv (man van). Maybe I'll see a 5.0 on the lot too!

Mod for mod the 'yote will beat the 3v 9/10 times. Thats just the reality of it.

I'll take that 1/10, especially when it's on video :beerdrink: my '05 with suspension/tires/4.10's getting the jump on a lightly modded 5.0 (uca, lca, 15" drag radials).

truth be told, if he had bias ply rears (to go with his manual trans) instead of the M/T drag radials he was running it would be a diff story altogether...

if my rear ever gives up the ghost, I'll swap the 4.10's for 4.56's

Im not saying it cant be done. Ive beat a couple 5.0s, but im saying cai/tune 3v vs cai/tune 5.0 its pretty one sided.

Does adding NOS still qualify the engine as being naturally aspirated? If so, add a 150 shot and burn those (stock) Coyotes down. :)

Nitrous Express kit for 4.6 at UPR

No.

Bruce,Did you run these gears with the 3650?
4.56

No. 6060. Although 4th is the same with both transmissions. I also ran them with tall tires like 295/45/10 street and 305/45/18 street and drag radial.

I like taller tires. To a middle aged guy like me they look better than low profile rubber bands. They also ride better.

I did run 4.10 with the 3650 and must say it was a nice improvement but over time I had wished for 4.56 or 4.88.

The only reason I changed the 4.56 out for 4.10 was because the crush sleeve crushed at the track and they got noisy real quick. I did run them with my Paxton to 567rwhp and it wasn't much of an issue.

Thanks Bruce!
I just put on some take off 2014 GTCS 19's 245/45. I think
and with the stock 3.55's it feels even slower..lol
I need the 4.56 gear now for sure!

Did you pick up those GT/CS wheels in the classifieds? Those 19" tires have a profile of almost 28" whereas your old ones were most likely under 27" so the taller tire will affect your final gear ratio. Nice wheels though. :thumb:

I found them on another site. They're really nice. I posted a pic somewhere. ha ha.
Someone give me a deal on some 4.56 gears, install kit and gear oil:)

"Googling" 4.56 gears in a mildly nodded n/a 3V, some said they're too much for for minimal power. I thought the idea of " shorter" gears is to ramp up the acceleration process regardless of rwhp. Would 4.56s mean a 4th shift on a 1/4 mile run too?

^^True..It's all for acceleration. Really nothing to do with N/A H.P. :)
I'm sure you would have to shift into fourth. No questions.

Cool deal Bruce!
That will be my next mod for sure. Gears and rebuild kit!
Just about everyone is out of stock on the 4.56 gears. Must be popular?

if your car is going to be seeing a lot of street, like how most cars will see 99% street miles and less than 1% track miles I would recommend against 4.56. granted 3.73 is not the optimal drag gear for a 3v I am very happy I can not only drive my car whenever, but I can hop in it right now and go for a road trip, which I have on several occasions.

I have to shift to 4th on the 1/4 with 4.10's so yea 4.56 would definitely have you in 4th even with 28" tires.
IMO that is too much gear for me personally as my car is not really an all out drag car.
I was even thinking to go down to 3.73's.

You and me both.

Me too! I would've gone with 305/40/18s but I wanted a hi-perf street tire. So 295/45/18 NT555's fit the bill.

I don't race but I'll drive it like I stole it. So maybe I'll stick with 4.10s (or 4.30s). Definitely need them with taller tires. My 3.55s aren't cutting it now.
