Crown, do they have this for flange setup (bolt and nut)?

My header/collector to mid-pipe bolts and nuts keep loosening; I even have double nuts and lock tight.

Well I'd like long tubes. .. but I like to keep working on my car as little of a pain in the ass as possible. Plus I still have that plan later to go turbo with a fender dump. So this way I don't have to buy a grand or so in long tubes and then take a hit on them later to sell them.

I have an extra set of stage 8 locking header bolts if you're interested. $40 new, I'll do $30 shipped.

Nice motor!!!!

Who painted your motor? I like that idea of just painting the front cover as that cover is casted nasty.

If it makes you feel any better when I did my first big build (1991) I started with a pretty mint 86' GT and stripped it right down to the chassis. Then put it all back together with a cage, big brakes, decent suspension, built up rear end, the then hot shit Tremec trans (can't remember the #), bla, bla, bla.

First time the motor went in the machine shop had balanced it wrong. It came out.

Second time the motor went in the machine shop balanced it wrong.....again.

Third time the motor went in the new machine shop had suggested a different cam. And didn't tell me I needed to use a bronze distributor gear. It ate the distributor gear in about 10min. Had to pull it again and clean the crap out and replace the bearings.

Fourth time it went in it ran for a few drives. Then I hit it with a 150 shot and split the block open.

The fifth time was a charm! Ran it for three seasons doing a ton of street racing (I would go through two tanks of Turbo Blue/night street racing). 12.5:1 347 that spun to 7,500rpm and eventually ended up with a 250 shot on it.

Keep pluggin away. It will work out.

I guess this is pretty common... sigh

Whatever happened to getting it right the first time???
Is that no longer a thing?

I see it on those TV shows where shops send out a motor to be rebuilt, fire it up, and have to send it back. Actually, it happens on all the shows except Overhaul... lol

I'm on my 2nd try...hoping the 2nd is a charm.
