Is Mike putting the new slave in for you? That really sucks man! I hope that doesn't happen when I get your old clutch put in mine.

Yea def. not doing my own clutch work lol.
play that video and close your eyes.

Lol Same here. I haven't done a clutch since I was in my late teens/early 20's. That was on a Toy 4x4 and the tranny jack strap started slipping while I was rotating the tranny in to get it to slide up against the bell housing and into the hump (with transfer case attached). After squatting it with my legs for a few minutes and maneuvering the jack back under it, I told myself I wouldn't do a clutch again. lol Course, it wasn't too smart to be doing it at 3 AM and no help...

OP good luck with the slave prob. though! Everytime I had the clutch changed in my ride I had the slave changed. I had heard about some problems with the RAM adj. one at first with getting it properly adjusted with the shims, but I guess all those probs got worked out? McLeod makes one as well that's supposed to be pretty good, but pricier... However, it can be adjusted while on the car and no shims.

Ok so here are my thoughts. Jeremy I sent the clutch slave that you took off your trans to Steve Poe. When he got it he said its about 3 inches shorter than the one that came out of his trans and that in 10 they changed the system on the gt500's. I'm having the feeling you somehow got the incorrect clutch slave when Mike put it in at MAP and being the wrong one it never would bleed correctly somehow. Does this make sense? If you ordered another slave that was the same as the other one, it may mess that one up too????

Here is the deal!

Jeremy you probably have a 2010+ 6060.

The clutch slave cylinder for the 2010+ is different from the 05-09.

From Tousley:
The 2010+ part number is AR3Z7A508A
The 2005-09 part number is 4R3Z7A508AA

What is his setup? a 3650/6060? gt/gt500?

I have an 05-09 slave in the car now that failed.

The symptom is the clutch barely works so the slave is too far away from the pressure plate. If i have a 10+ 6060 and used a 05-09 slave the slave would be too close, not the other way around.

Unless I have an 08 6060 like the paper works says and rockauto accidently sent me a 10+ slave?

But i think I would notice a 3" difference in the slave, it looked just like the one i bought when i put the old rst in.

Ask Poe if he can post pictures of the slave that i gave you and you sent him and for more details.

I think Steve has a pre 07-09 gt500. He said that he thought that it was the newer one because it was a good 3" shorter.

Thats really wierd, everywhere else i have seen says the 2010 slave is longer than 05-09 hmmm...

Wonder if anyone knows how to tell if i have a 2010 6060 vice 07-09?

And if a 2010 6060 will actually work with an 05-09 slave on an 05-09 car.

Yea when I asked if steve had recieved it in the mail and he said it wasn't the correct one, the light bulb went off :idea:that maybe you had the new tranny or they just grabbed a clutch slave laying around thinking they were all the same and somehow grabbed a new one to throw in it.

The '10 and up slaves must have a longer throw. The clutch TSB's for the '07-09 GT500's have you upgrade to the '10 style slave cylinder along with a new clutch line. This tells me that they're all interchangable, but the '10 slave must have a longer throw which would help disengage the clutch better.

Theres a pic of the trans and the slave that came with it, looking at the pic again the slave does look shorter, would that mean it has a longer throw?

I didnt use the slave in the pic i used a new 05-09 slave. Which disengaged right at the floor, 1st and reverse were impossible to get into and after a week it failed completely.

So you think i should try a 2010 slave?

Do you know how to tell if its an 07-09 6060 or a 2010 6060?

Thanks for that Cobra! Jeremy you may have to get the longer one! The part numbers I put up were directly from Tousley.

This is the "older" one 4R3Z-7A508-AA:

I don't have the AR3Z one here to compare it to. I would guess that one of them has a longer throw than the other, but at this point I can't say which for sure.
