So

If I Whipple my car for $6400 and keep the RWHP @ 500, it would be faster than the new 5.0 and have just as much potential?

Thing is, for $1000 more than the Whipple, I could be in a 5.0 and think about what a Whipple would do for THAT...........on a stock bottom end.

Hence my struggle with a decision.........:dead2:

I LOVE my car, I just wish the bottom ends were stronger so I could go to 700rwhp without having to drop more coin in a motor build.

Horsepower sitting in the garage under 47 coats of wax doesn't count. Horsepower only counts when it's being put to the ground through a set of smoking tires.

I read of a guy with a whipple'd 5.0 that blew up. He was at a tad under 700. If you think it's a guarantee that it'll hold together - good luck with that.

So you say that you can get into a 5.0 for 1k more than the whipple. Okay so that means that spending the same money you can have whipppled car with no payment that is just as fast or faster than the 5.0. Or, a stock 5.0.

You can't add in the whipple on the 5.0 because then that would be spending that 7k on just getting the 5.0 and then paying another $XXXX amount of money on top of that to buy a whipple.

DId that just make sense? I hope so(picking on myself here)

Personally I say keep it and throw the whipple on it! In about 3 years the 2015 Mustang is most likely going to be faster than the 5.0 and you might find yourself in the same scenario. I mean it is nice to go to a car show and say that you have 700HP but what are you going to do with that HP? Getting it to hook up on the street is a bit of a chore, plus you have so much invested in your car as is. Call Tousley and get the Whipple HO kit and live the dream Good Sir! If you feel the need for more power you can always turn up the boos and get a safe tune for it as well. Yeah you can't go nuts with the boost but you can get a decent amount of power and still beat stock 5.0s and some modded 5.0s. Every few years there is always going to be a car that is faster than yours will be even if you go with the 5.0. Go buy the whipple and live the dream of the whipple whine.

Also if your worried about no one buying your FRPP Intake Manifold if you go with the Whipple I could really use one for my V8 swap  :whistling:

put 6.4k into your car and it is faster then a 5.0
put another 5k into your car and it is faster then a 5.0 with a whipple

You will be faster for less money keeping your car

^^ all good points. Question before is what are you gonna do with all that HP? Yeah, its cool and a good talking piece that you have a 700hp garage queen, but that gets old rather quickly.

Here is last May. A friend of mine in his new "stock 5.0" versus me. you decide. I know its not a fair race by far. His car is his DD and both are auto's.
