Well, PFSracer was running 18 psi and making about 600 whp with it.

Good call on the aluminator shortblock, you know that it's been built correctly with quality parts.

i ran the whipple for a while and found that after about 14 or 15psi it was realistically just choking for air. PSFRacer had ST build a custom sheetmetal intake and intake tube that flowed alot more cfm than the kit does. but the cost of me having one made was about the same to just sell my whipple and buy a mammoth...so i did! just my .02 tho

nice build. looking foward to seeing some numbers

+1. I wasn't aware the aluminator was so stout or comparatively inexpensive. I searched though and a few people had problems with spun rod bearings. But from what I gathered it seemed most of those were chalked up to running the "wrong" weight oil. Hopefully as more of these get used the more we will see the intricacies of what works and what doesn't.

Not true, these Whipples make good power and have no probs running 18-20psi even without ST's kit..

my race tune was at 18psi and there really wasnt much gain, i think it made about 610rwhp on a mustang dyno. the heat of the air caused my car to pull so much timing that it wouldnt make power...this is also prolly cause i live in texas. and i only had the blower on my car from may thru september.:poke: i guess up north its a bit better. oh and my heads cams setup prolly shows less boost then ur car would at the same rpm. unless you have heads and cams that is

Could be possibily casue of the heat/air down there in texas. I have bone stock heads, but with Hot Rod Cams. What head/cam combo are you running?

the cams are different now. but back then they were custom blower grinds from cam motion in louisiana...similar to bbr stage 2 blwer cams. and the heads were TEA-i guess what you would call their stage 2 port.

on my current setup with the mammoth ive gone with a water/meth injection kit. helps a bunch.

I was interested in the meth set-up.. What gains did you see from it? Was it a snow performance kit?

its the snow stage 2 mustang specific kit with the digital controller. i also have a trunk resv.

As far as gains. coundnt really tell you cause i didnt have a b4 and after. altho there was one time. and this was in feb too so it was decently cold down here. that i ran the car not knowing the solenoid was bad. and the car pulled somuch timing with out the meth that it was like running into a wall. i think i can run like upwards of 25* on pump on 22psi all day on 50/50 meth water

Sorry for the long quiet time but we've made a ton of progress. (ok some progress)

Learned a bit about that tss billet geared gt500 oil pump. It comes with a pickup tube and 2 o-rings. one for pump discharge one for pickup tube. Well done TSS. Bolted right on, no issue.

I have canton oil pan studs waiting for me at home. Just arrived today. My idea was since i have the livernois crank scraper that stacks inbetween 2 oil pan gaskets...it would be easier to line it all up on studs rather than bolts. My wonder is there is no talk of setting pickup depth to the bottom of the pan. Anyone used the livernois scraper and have an idea? I understand the clay technique...i just dont wanna do it and I wanna hear someone say "no its fine."

Also arriving today is ARP head studs, balancer bolt, flywheel bolts and a nice bottle of assembly lube.

Lastly, the heads came off and got shipped to SD for a P&P some spr stage2 blower cams with lockouts. The piston with the broken connecting rod had marks on top from 2 valves. Bummer. Valves looked ok. Im sure they arent though.
