Have you given thought to our Stage 1s? You will get the same awesome sound and gain some good power with them.

You know what they say, if it's not one thing it's your mother.

Cams are pretty easy by themselves. There are plenty of writeups on this site.

Same here bro I can rebuild a 5.0 302 pushrod motor easy, but theses modular motors are a different animal. Anyone know someone in ky that can do these.

FRPP doesnt make Mutha "Thumpers", COMP does. FRPP makes Hot Rod Cams. IMO, you should go with the FRPP cams. Their sound is unbeatable..

No special tools required for NSR cams, very basic hand tools and a piece of garden hose is all you need.

There are a bunch of threads/write ups on here about the cam swap and once of them links you to the step by step process. Should take you 3 hours from start to finish and that's with taking your time and double checking everything. Another set of hands helps if you have friends that enjoy working on cars.

You WILL need a tune/handheld tuner if you don't have one already, choose them from one of the vendors...BBR, AM, Torq, etc.

I was trying to decide between frpp hot rod cams and comp mother thumpers. I have a sct2 with bbr 93 tune now, if cams go it I will go back with bbr for updated tune. So this swap is fairly easy? 2 cam bolts and wedge tool.

2 cam bolts and you don't need the wedge tool; I have done 4-5 swaps without it and had no issues.

BBR is a great choice for the update.

Damn your car sounds good, would I need valve spring or just get the cams a the two bolts and go at it? How do you keep the car in proper timing?

Take out the old cams..........install the new Hotrods with 2 new cam bolts. Easy as walking and chewing gum.

You do have to wedge the chain to keep it from moving. I used a clean garden hose cut ~3ft long and wedged it to keep the chain from moving.

All the info you need and then some. If you are serious about doing them yourself, I can give you my number and walk you through if you have a minimal amount of mechanical abilities.

Proper timing? BAMA tunes FTW!! Chris Rose and the guys at AM meet and exceed all my tuning needs.
