Wow, this has be a bit paranoid since it will be a few weeks still until I can think about getting mine installed/tuned. Hopefully you guys can post up what ford has to say tomorrow.

ok I have the same intake and After seeing this I went and checked mine. It does move a little but not like yours at all. My rails stay solid and they are stock. But I did notice in your vid that you do not have the large vacuum line from the intake to the valve cover (driverside) installed. Why? I think maybe that is the reason yours is doing this. I would however like to know what the outcome of this...let us all know please. Nice Stang BTW

That just the line for the drivers side pcv. Mine is plugged the same way at the manifold and i have a breather filter on my valve cover as well.

Im pretty sure the vac is pulling in the top of the manifold and is causing the runners to bulge out, so it looks like there is pressure pushing them out when its really the vac pulling the top of the manifold down that causes the bulge lol.

I will make a vid for sure tommorow and check out a few more things.

i can see that becoming a very bad thing quick. the one time it decides to crack and pieces of plastic gets sucked in it's game over.

Not sure if it would help its an idea though. I would first want to pull of the the top cover and look at the design underneath to see what kind of support is under there.

I not worried about it on my because it moves very little, but to the op def tha tmuch movement would concerned. Btw when i push on my runners i can get them to move alittle but i have to push hard, seems its may be some bad molds out there.

im going to go out on a limb and say none or very little if mine is bulging that much on an N/A application...youd think they would make it bullit proof since NO ONE had a problem with the stock intake and its made by the same people

I have to push REAL hard too on them but mine still move miles farther out compared to yours...so i don't know what the deal is...i can't wait for that other guy to tell us what ford says about this

Yeah, im guessing ford didnt take into account the taller manifold height, and added plenum volume making the design weaker up top. Makes me wish i would have took mine apart to look inside before I installed it. That might help clue us in on whats going on.

Very anxious to see what ford says as well!

Yeap guessing is a quality control issue, looks like inconsistentcies with the plastic used in the molds or maybe bad batch?

Where ever ford has them made at...

I think mine is moving about as much as yours, not alot at all. maybe 1mm of movment. And I reved it hard to 6k several times. I have the full FRPP top end with stage 3 heads. It moves a little but the rails stay solid. I dont like it. I never would have noticed if I hadnt seen this thread tho. I am curious to see what ford is going to do about this...let me know...

Im on the phone with ford right now and the guy is explaining to me that it would be impossible for this to happen...i sent him a link to the video and he finally saw what was going on...

then hes all wait...oh wow i do see them moving..and he asked is this vehicle naturally aspirated? I said yes this is my personal vehicle. He said, "Well i do see them moving and i will be forwarding this video to our engineer so he can see what the problem is." The whole time he was VERY doubtful of them moving...and then he actually saw it and was shocked. So he said he is going to email me when he gets info about it...

i got mine, but have not put it on yet, waiting for other stuff to get in, so i only have to tear it apart once. I hope mine does not do that, shipping delays from Germany suck!

I spoke to Steve at Frpp 8:30 am. He seemed genuinely surprised and I could tell that this was the first he'd heard of the problem. He requested a video, which I just took and forwarded to him. He said he'd show it to the engineer and get back to me today. I'm not smart enough to figure out how to post the video here, but I'll email it to someone if they are able to post it for me.

hmm the local ones we've done don't behave like yours. I'm interested to hear FRPP's take on this.
