Gauges?

So I'm getting a Saleen SC soon and want to get some gauges, going to get 3 for the center dash pod and was planing on vac/boost, wideband, and Fuel pressure, but is having both a A/F gauge and fuel pressure gauge kind of redundant? I would figure you could tell you were getting lean from the A/F, would I be better off with a water temp, or oil temp, or even a water temp for the IC?

I know for the most part it's all looks, but it could save your ass.

I actually agree with what you are saying (even though I have both gauges).

You can run lean with plenty of fuel pressure, but you are not going to run normal/safe with low fuel pressure. Therefore (in my opinion) a wideband is really the better choice of the two and probably all you need. But the fuel pressure gauge is sort of a backup insurance plan just in case.

I have both the a/f and boost gauge. I think they are both good to have. Your car can run lean with a good fuel pressure, but when just driving around your a/f might still read stoich and your fuel pressure could start dropping or going all over the place, this tells you not to go WOT.

get an aeroforce, then you can monitor the fuel pressure and head temp at the same time and change it around to a ton of other things.i usually monitor oil pressure and head temp on mine, then i have a seperate AEM for wideband and another AEM for boost.sometimes i use the aeroforce for boost and rpms to see the different boost levels at different rpms. theres about 15 different things you can monitor with the aeroforce.

Actually I was considering replacing my fuel pressure gauge with the Aeroforce scan gauge or whatever it is called. It is a nice unit!

If you are thinking about the aeroforce scan gauges also buy the speed of sound piller gauge pod to mount them into - OEM looks and it takes all of 5 minutes to install, the gauges plug right into the OBDII port. There are two types of aeroforce gauges - single and doubles, I have the two double gauges - couldn't be happier - many, many variations on what you can monitor. Besides with the piller pod mounting you do not have to cut the dash or lose a vent due to gauge placement.

Yeah I plan on getting one, although I have thought about the iPhone app called REV looks like it monitors the same, and can log too.

Running a pair of Aeroforce gauges mounted in a SOS pillar pod as well and currently measuring boost via one of the analog inputs. Great set-up with tons of flexibility!

Yup, I have the speed of sound triple pillar. I do recommend it too.
