Is anyone on here using the GT500 maf for a blow thru setup? If so how is it working out? Any problems? If you have any pics of where you placed it on a vortech/paxton setup I would greatly appreciate it. My power goal is 700rwhp so I felt like the gt500 setup or the SCT maf would be a good choice, just wanna make sure it would workout with a blow thru.

Thanks,
Ryan

idk if the stock maf and a mafia will be enough for 700hp
Mafia set on 3 here with a stock maf . It will be there next mo when I hit 800-850rw as well . I have had no issues with the mafia so far .

The HPX would be a much better choice than the stock meter with an extended at that power level. It will really come down to what size tube you run the factory meter in though.

hpx maf is the same result as stock maf with the mafia. Hpx has the voltage range adjustability built in and is tunable to the hp level u want. Same result the mafia does for the stocker. Only the mafia allows you to set the hp/voltage range you want and then you just add the finishinig touches in the tune. Both setups are proven to work so it really comes down to preference and how much money u wanna spend.

I will be using a mafia as well (scored one used for $100 bucks awhile back)

I agree, mine is only set on 3 at over 700 rw so I feel it has a ways to go yet .

What size pipe do you have the stock meter in? With the 05-up meters you can only go so far with the Mafia. The older meters output up to 12Vs. The 05-up stock meters do not. I think you are alot closer to pegging your (maf) setup than you think. Once you go to turn it up more I think you will see what I'm talking about. If you were not going to push the car any father, then you would be fine with what you have.

The HPX is not adjustable and it will get you more range than a stock/MAFia combo.

Using a MAFia on "3" you are borderline if you reach the top side of the curve.

Exactly.

The problem of going to a pipe big enough so you have enough airflow within MAF range in blow thru is that is hard to have a nice section of straight pipe that could help you laminate the air.

On a blow thru setup, and HPX in 3" pipe will give you range for a little more than 600rwhp, 3.5" will give you over 800rwhp but then it gets more complicated to get a nice signal out if the config. Forget about 4".

3.5 . I guess I will see in a few weeks . For 800+ what is the best setup ?

No i dont think the mafia can do anything for the hpx as it has the larger voltage range already, the hpx would still be limited by maf pipe size just as the stock maf with a mafia would be.

You could use one in a SCJ housing and add a MAFia and make, I don't know, about 2000rwhp?

Thanks Lito . Sounds like a winner then . What is SCJ ?
Also looks like my pipe size is 85mm or about 3 3/8 and not 3.5, 3.5 would be 90 mm .
