I know threads have been posted about the gt500 pumps a million times and I've searched but can't quite find the answers I'm looking for. So on that note a buddy of mine went to the aeromotive a1000 return style in his 11 gt500 and since I'm going procharger soon he was nice enough to give me his pumps fpdm and harness. Question is can I make tha factory harness work and what else is needed for it. Car is an 09 gt btw
Thanks in advance!!!

It came with everything except the tank. So I should be good to go then! Just have to double check to make sure the wires are in the right spot on the connectors. I've heard you had to switch them around on the frpp harness. I'm not sure if its a special harness or factory harness they use so better to check anyway
Thanks for the help

Something is different between 09 and 11. I can't recall what exactly it is but there are different kits for 05-09 and 10+.

Edit: The kits come with a specially made harness to adapt to the GT. You might have to do a little research.

Isn't the tank sender different as well?

Yes. The 2010 up has a different sending unit that reads ohms opposite (falling vs rising). Those suckers are about $160 for the one that works on 05-09 GT. They are specific to the 07-09 gt500 dual pumps. The 05-06 can actually swap over but are becoming more difficult to find.

bitch of it all is the 2010 up sending units are cheap. Go freggin figure.

Send a pic of exactly what you have. It can all be integrated with the stock harness. If you want plug-n-play you will need different fpdm (iirc) and a special harness that plug into your original fpdm vehicle side plug then branches out to the other fpdm and both fpdms now go to the pumps. The harness is also hard to find in stock and around $200. It cost me more in materials to build one myself but found not all the harnesses being built are using shielded wire to the fuel pumps. Furthermore I prefer to upgrade those wires to 12 ga shielded wire, and 10 ga regular wire to the relay from the battery (about 20 feet with a 10 ga fuse carrier).

My COST alone to build a harness is now over $250 but totally plug-n-play with new fpdm connectors (well, all connectors lol), relay and the super nice aircraft grade abrasion proof casing. Bling.

Awesome. everything is supposed to be here tomorrow and I will take a pic then.
Since I got it for free if I can't make the harness work putting 200 dollars into it wouldn't be too bad. But if I can make it work that'll work too

Never look a gift horse in the mouth! The pumps usually bring $450-$500 used with harness and fpdm ready to plug n play. How much power you looking to make?

If your goal is 600 or less on those pumps then the 12 ga wire can be used to the relay with no problem (vs the 10 ga wire). You could probably get materials to do that around $200. That is only to build the harness.

You will still need a sending unit or your fuel gauge will not work. You could get lucky and find a used 05-06 for $50 shipped and swap the sending units out. Otherwise you are looking at $160 retail for that ALONE!

The car is getting a procharger setup making hopefully around 450-470 until I get done a built motor. Then anything north of 600 is fine with me!

I got everything in today.
If only I could figure out how to post pics.
Good news and bad news. Came with the pumps and the sending unit.
Both fpdm and the harness with all the connectors and everything. But it's cut. Like they cut it out of the car. I'm not sure why they did it but oh well.

Also I'm interesting in seeing when needs to be changed as I have a 05-09 GT500 fuel pump with wire harness and fpdm's and need to install it in a 2010 GT. Think I just need to switch two wires around but idk lol.

Doesn't work like that you will need a 2010 style level sender it reads different.

So then me and the OP should switch pumps and then everything will plug and play? lol

yes lol.

OP:
I got the pics. Yes your system is a 2010 and up. You also have the 2010 fpdms which I dunno if they will work in the earlier cars. Good question for Jeremy@s&hperformance. The pumps will work but think the FPDM's are actually wired different but don't hold me to that.

Vipermk has the exact same problem but in reverse lol. You guys should pm each other about that. Shipping would be a heck of a lot cheaper for both of you vs building harnesses and buying parts
