maybe i'll give that a try first. only reason i like the macs i have is because i have black powdercoated tips on them. anyway.. back on topic.
If I could find a muffler that keeps the tone of the stockers but is about twice as loud as the stockers that would be cool. I've never had an issue with the stocker's tone - only volume. Of course I have an auto which supposedly has even quieter muffs. I love my boomtubes but they're crazy loud when the midpipe changes to O/R or high-flow cat.

I don't get why people like emailed tunes??? .
Because everyone doesn't live next to Brenspeed, BBR, AM, Bama, or any other "Trustworthy" tuner!! some of us are stuck with an "email tune" or a very long drive!!!!!
My AM Chris Rose tune has perfect drive-ability with my hot rods. The Brenspeed tune was pretty good, but had some cold engine weirdness and coasting weirdness. Not only does my Chris Rose tune drive perfectly, but it pulls harder than it ever did and no more below 3500 rpm weakness then sudden surge of power (I have the 93 Race tune BTW). I also do NOT get the flashing O/D light with his tune.
My Brenspeed tune had the flashing O/D, but they fixed it. I guess there's more than one way to fix it, but a simple single value change is what did it for me with the Brenspeed tune. I don't know how Chris Rose fixes this, but it's fixed.
Also cleaning the crap out of my TB and MAF cleared up some idle issues I had previously. I need to see if a dirty TB/MAF was the reason my BBR tune could not hold idle. It most likely is but I have not tried my BBR tune again in months.
One weird thing I had with my Brenspeed tune is when I would coast slowly (like 20mph lets say) shortly after I let off the gas the RPM would fall to idle. Kind of like coasting with the clutch pushed in in a manual. Then when I'd get back on the throttle, I'd have to wait for the engine to "wind up" until it started to go again at 1500+ rpm or somewhere around there. So trying to maintain a slow speed caused this weird up and down with the RPM. I'm sure anyone around me thought I was retarded or something making the engine do that. But, the Chris Rose tune does not fall like that and the RPMs stay up where you'd expect. The only time they go down to idle is when I'm stopped. Much better behavior and response.
I can feel my tranny "clunk" while its in drive coming to a stop in 2nd and in 1st gear. these trannys dont shift off vacum....right?

no thats not what Im feeling....the downshift to 2nd and 1st gears arent smooth....I have always felt the car downshift in the low gears but now its not smooth? sometimes it ok and others its not. I think it depends on vacum and with cams we loose a little vacum so????? I dont think these new trannys shift from vacum like the older autos did.I have a "clunk" in mine too on deceleration from the 2nd to 1st shift. Someone told me it's the torque converter unlocking.

Mine clunks as well. Pretty annoying
You can get a better camshaft profile to work with the stock heads than that one. That is....if you know what you're looking at.
