Make sure it's got billet oil pump gears. ...Ford has been having a little issue with them not having em lol.

I read something about that a little while ago. Not cool. I'm not going to void whatever warranty I have to check Ford's work, but I'll be keeping an eye on the situation. If I do have a failure and this motor turns out to not have that parts I paid for in it, Ford will be sending me a new one.

My parts guy is about as good as it gets. Searching 2014 Mustangs. There is no reference other than the 4 bolt water pump pulley. However, when searching by Witt's vin #, it does list a separate part # and specifically references a 3 bolt water pump. It also says (Some 2014 "Post Job 1") - Very Odd.

Edit:

The reasoning appears to be clear upon researching part numbers. The cost of the new pump is about 60% of the 4 bolt.

3 Bolt Water Pump - BR3Z 8501 J - MSRP $82.38
3 Bolt Water Pump Pulley - BR3Z 8509 HA - MSRP $9.97

4 Bolt Water Pump - BR3Z 8501 H - BR3Z 8501 H - MSRP $143.47
4 Bolt Water Pump Pulley - BR3Z 8509A - MSRP - $20.13

I spoke with the engineers at Vortech / Paxton.

The OEM Pulley should work ok. Vortech / Paxton provide a pulley with larger lips to help prevent any belt walk. There should be no issues with running the oem 3 bolt water pump and pulley, but a car will be in house soon for testing to know for sure.

I believe it is slightly smaller, but I don' t think it's enough that will require the idler adjustment to be moved with a stock pulley with a Paxton (3.8). Those with a Paxton that is pullied down one to a 3.6, or a Vortech might.

We haven't had one in house to know for sure though. If you have a 3.6 when you install, if the tensioner appears to have too much play and is close to bottoming out, you will want to move the idler over one spot to tighten up the system.

The 8 ribs water pump pullies at some point, will more than likely be getting re machined to accept both bolt patterns. Initially if your plans are a competition kit or 8 rib upgrade, your easiest option would be a 4 bolt water pump from Ford. If need be after testing, the 6 rib pullies may end up with the same bolt pattern treatment.
Just wanted to put info out there so no one has any surprises.

This right here is a perfect example why I choose you to purchase my Paxton kit and have plans to buy the rest of my mustang go fast parts.. Question comes up that the makers themselves don't know about and boom you get answers. I still haven't dug into installing my kit or all my other parts because I crashed my dd right before xmass and it set me back about 6 weeks. Good news is it's just going to be a little warmer in the garage once I start. I'm seriously thinking about doing my oil pump gears now since I have a late 2010 build date. I just want the full supporting mod list to be safe on the stock pulley. Cheers

For those of you with the Boss 302 intake manifold; did you have to extend the throttle body wiring or can it be stretched to reach? It looks pretty close, so I thought I'd ask here before I started cutting and soldering. Thanks!

thanks for the biz. And a great way to start. The fuel system out of the gate is a win win. Should be a beast on e85.

The throttle body adapter kit for the Boss 302 comes with an extension harness.

I am a total noob to fuel systems. Running a BAP now, and I do see a built motor down the road, with a goal of 800hp, maybe even 900-1000 max if I switch to e85.

What is the simplest "bolt-on" fuel setup I can run? Nothing too crazy but safe.

What he said

we have great deals and packages on the Fore Fuel systems. Highest quality systems out there, not pieced together with other peoples parts.

All they do is Fuel. :)

With your prices on the kit's it makes it easier to get the fuel system in the beginning rather then waiting longer.

Looking forward to the install this weekend, I think this thread has me covered on the Paxton install, hopefully the fuel system install is not too bad.

^^^ Good timing doing the billet gears. Great how to thread also. I wish I had done those first on mine instead I will be pulling the blower and stuff back off mine soon I'd say to do the billet gears. Your car should be strong. Just had a buddy do a Paxton and Shaun tuned it. He is very happy with the power and the street manners.

Nice! I am also local to AED, only about 5 minutes away and plan to have them tune mine when I get a Paxton.

We have some really great pricing on fuel systems.

we are now using some Fore Hats with our systems along with CPE depending on what your looking to do.

http://www.jpcracing.com/jpc-2011-2014-budget-e85-fuel-system/

This a brand new kit we have out that is complete E85 safe and is only $1450

Plus 5% off for forum members.

You can upgrade this kit to a 1400HP later done the road for very little money.

really the only difference in this kit and the 1400 HP system is the rails and a few fittings.

So the New E85 Budget kit will make 900 easy on E85 with ID1000s

Also It was brought to my attention some people were complaining about the finish on our 79.99 t Bolt kit.

We will have a stage 2 T Bolt kit with Top of the line T bolts at an insane low price. Really soon for those who are interested.
