And the ironic part is.... pretty much all the suggestions that were given are what's listed in the owners manual. But hey, guess it was easier to ask than to put forth the effort of looking

yeah sadly that is mostly true.

Ford will drop the ball however, when it comes to the little black book of the cars.. take the 01-05 mazda tribute/ford escape.. transmission loves to fall out, desparately needs the fluid changed every 30k.. call techline tryin to get one warrantied out and the first thing they ask is "did the owner change the trans fluid at 30k llike they were supposed to??"

and what does the manual say? first mention of trans fluid is to "inspect" @ 60k miles..

The manual is there, but its more like a guideline to what a room full of pencil pushers think needs to be done on a stock car. My car is not stock nor is it babied and driven like a wuss either. I ask on the boards because I want real world answers. From real world experiences.
