One thing is that if you have mufflers, the connection point needs to be after them. Mufflers, even if straight through race mufflers, will cause the evac setup to not function properly.

Who needs mufflers when you have a turbo!!! :flamingdevil:
But that is a good point to bring up. I'd almost say if it has mufflers you should look at a vacuum pump instead.

Any updates?

Still need to swap the fuel lines and flush the system. The kids car has taken over as 1st in line since his trans went out and he is driving momma's car. I have everything, just need time. No to mention work!

Well boys, looks like we are back in business! I got all the fuel lines done and have been driving the car on the weekends for a couple weeks now. I've taken a he car to 7k and 21 psi several times now and I'm trying to get it on the heartbreaker dyno next Saturday to do some tuning. The car has become a little dangerous to do road pulls. I don't know if it's just been that long or if it's really that strong but it it's a handfull on the road. Even at 60 mph it is hit or miss weather it hooks or spins. It feels really fast, that's all I can say. I plan on getting my car and the kids on the dyno next weekend so we will see how they do. Then it's time to get back to the track. I will most likely take it a little easy this year till fall and the cooler temps. Work has really made it hard on me this year. I am so busy I don't know what to do to make car time right now except just make some "me" time.

I drove the kids car to town today to get the front brakes done and it was a blast.

I almost want to start a new thread now, we have made fast go fast, now I just want to go as fast as I can and enjoy the car. Fact is though, when I hit the track, all that goes to shit and it's never enough.

That being said, I am going to start a new one once I hit the dyno next weekend. "Fast is never fast enough" lol

Billy, I am looking forward to you getting back on the track. I have really enjoyed following your build, even with all your troubles. You are a master at engineering and have a unique car. I hope this time you can really enjoy the racing season.

Great news, can't wait to see how it goes for you. I understand about wanting to have fun on the street too. It's been a long time since I was last able to go to the track, and with 2 18 month olds it will be a good long while before I can go again I'm sure, so I said screw it and changed out the locker rear end on mine in favor of a boss 302 torsen diff. I might set it up for the track again in the future, but for now I would rather have a fun car I can take the kids in and that the wife will be willing to ride in.

Great to hear Billy. It will be OK to see a "Fast is never fast enough" thread started as long as we don't see any more failures within it. I think you have had more than your share of those.

It's been a hell of a journey. :snoopy
Yes it has!

You and me both. I just keep finding the weak spots. Last one is on me though for not having the crank snout welded and resurfaced after the balancer movement on the previous build. Live and learn.

Hell yea man, hopefully you get to enjoy it for a while this time!
Yea, hopefully this year will be another 2014 for me. That was one hell of a year for this car and myself.

Hell, I even have thought of parting mine out this year and buying a new one. I know we're there is a 14 Gt500 for sale with 5000 unmolested miles on it, but buy the time I take a bath on mine and buy it, then mod it to where I am now, I am back at 70k :cheersman:
I can't do that for a car I play around with. I have to face facts, I will get 25k for my car if I try to sell it. That will NEVER happen.

That's the issue though, at the 800- 1k rwhp shit happens. That's just a fact we have to deal on with when pushing limits.

We'll have to get the crew all back together sometime

It's time for some 5.0 killing. Lol

No, I'm messing. We do need to get another Houston meet together this year. Lost of good people there I have met that don't post here to much anymore.

That's some great news Billy. I agree "Fast is never Fast enough"

I am toying with a big bore build now that this one is running well. Same everything I have now with 326 CID.
These heads would love the 3.7 bore. I would do 3.7 flattops as well to keep close to my 12:1 CR though.

326 CI with 12:1, 20+ psi and e85 oh my...

That was my plan for this year till I broke the crank. I want this one to last and be fun so I have the time to gather the parts at the right price to make it all happen.

We shall see though.

Better bring your A+ game for some 5.0 killing.

Don't think many of them are in the 9s much anymore down here haha

I don't think my little 3v is either. 5.78 1/8th last time out before the next week crank broke,

Either way, Im just a 3v, I have nothing to loose against the almighty 5.0. :whistle1:

Its all in good fun for me. Like the original post in this thread says, I just like to go fast. I could give a shit about a real race at this point. If it makes my hands shake, I am good.

Im serious about wanting to come down again. We need to get something set up.

My first go with my new acquired hp will likely be the 8th. We'll have to find an event for us to all attend

I found out today that the dyno I wanted to use this Saturday has a broken computer. I think the kid and myself are going to Lufkin this Saturday to make some datalog passes for Manuel.
