I know technology has changed in the 6 years since the VooDoo debuted but they needed the 5.2 with the FPC and all those RPMs to hit 526. I think 525 out of the 5.0 in factory trim is a bit of a stretch

The gen 3 5.0 is now just under 500 with a calibration and CAI so its not really a far stretch.

As long as you can carry the torque high enough in the higher RPMs you can make the hp. As we all know hp cannot exist without torque and hp is just a question of where you make your torque and how much you bring to the table.

That is true. Guess I am just a bit skeptical they are gonna find an extra 45 horsepower over the Bullitt set up in OEM tune

Not a stretch at all. An 18-20 GT can reach that level with bolt ons and a tune:

Yes I know it can be done aftermarket....That is why I have repeatedly said in OEM/Factory trim. You know where they need to worry about emissions/reliability/driveability

Ford tends to be a little conservative on the OEM tunes

Appears it will have Fords highest hp 5.0 and will be track based.

Dumps the Getrag. Picks up the TR-3160 from the GT350.

I can deal with the power and mechanical bits on it but I don’t like the looks. It looks like a generic stripe kit on a regular GT, nothing about it visually is that special or interesting to me, at least the Bullitt has the sweet Highland Green paint.

Basically it's the same car as the 2020 Stage 2 Roush. Look at the specs they are very similar. Stage 2 with the Podium Package has all the same coolers. Available in both manual and automatic. Difference being you can add an optional RoushCharger to the stage 2 and make it a stage 3.
No SC on the Mach. It will be interesting to see the pricing comparison???

Agree. Nothing especially exciting to look at in my book. I like the engine and the upgraded manual transmission.

I am going to say the Mach 1 will start at 50-53

Bullitt Starts at basically 49. The Mach 1 is basically a bullitt + tremec + PP2 + GT350/500 cooling bits added. SO my guess is 50-53

What remains to be seen is if the Mach 1 is going to have all the interior gizmos standard like the Bullitt did.

Stage 2 Roush starts at $12,995 above base of GT, no upcharge for an automatic.
I configured one with the Podium and Competition package which make it very similar to the Mach1 and it was $20,475 above base price of the GT.
You can bet though that the Mach 1 is going to be very similar to the GT 500 and there will be significant dealer markups.

I am sure there will be markups at first on the Mach 1 just like the Bullitt. Those faded fairly quick and now you can find Bullitts 3-5 K off MSRP

But not the GT 500, every dealer around me is still $10-20k over sticker. I'm going to say it's compared more to that than the Bullitt when it comes to pricing.
I'll say $10k over sticker minimum starting price. This will be higher demand than the Bullitt.
I'm not sure, is the Bullitt built in limited numbers? The Mach 1 will be.

The 5.0 DOHC is so smooth it wouldn't shake.
