That's what I thought at first but the ground strap for the starter harness goes to the stud on the engine mount bracket on that side.Perhaps a ground strap?
That's on the direct back of the head, this is like off of the corner where the bore goes out the same direction as the exhaust mani. I assume it's some provision for a different 4.6 model or something, I've looked through all of the Ford PTS Workshop and can't find a single thing that it goes to for the early S197's.Isn’t their a bracket that supports the heater hoses bolted on there somewhere.
I remember now. The Roush blower kit has two hard line sections for the intercooler that bolt into that location. Left side between the exhaust manifold and valve cover.
