Regardless of the oil pan capacity having 5qts in the pan is more than sufficient to keep from starving the pickup.

You know I feel really bad about this Ron, and you also know that it worries me as we have clone engines, but I do have to say, so var the Thrump_rrr tensioner is still the only thing you haven't broken.
Perhaps Thump_rrr racing should make some motor made with the same quality. Like black box in plane. Why not make the entire plane with the same metal. they always survive.
Do you have the diameter of that pulley?Thrump_RRR billet Rods maybe? Thrump_RRR billet engine block? Thrump_RRR billet crank? Thrump_RRR billet pistons? Thrump_RRR billet oil pump? Hmm..... Interesting concept. I'm still waiting on the Thrump_RRR idler pulley that is smaller then 76mm that can replace that small upper idler pulley under the bracket for the alternator on the Saleen setup!!!!
where can we get just the billet gear?
....stock motor/stock oil pump.
...the stock oil pump.
...the oil pump?
...the oil pump problems...
where can we get just the billet gear?
...oil pump failure
+1. That video you linked sounds just like a dry pump with the gears over-running.
...an oil pump failure...
...that pump...!
...failed oil pump...
You're kidding......right?Was it maybe because it wasn't driven for a while and oil wen bad.......
Well shit....here we go. Ron hasn't turned one single bolt and the whole world is looking for billet gears. How about we let him get it torn down first.
ill see what i can do monday provided i can push the car up into my driveway

Come on SD, you know as well as we do that we have all been down this road. No one can diag something over the internet, but most of us know what ping, rod knock, worn wrist pins, bad oil pumps, bad water pumps, bad fuel pumps, and other common failures sound like.
Besides, I would hate to see the guy throw in the towel before he digs in. Words of encouragement and getting pointed in a direction to start in is all the man needs.
Now that is funny. Yea kid, it sat in the ground for 10 million yeas no problem, the the last 3 days in the block have been pretty tough... LOL
Don't hold me to anything, but I think I can drive there in 3 hours. I have to work Monday, but I may take the Thursday slot. Have to see if my heads show up by Wednesday or not.
"As soon as you get it out pull that pump and a couple bearing caps and let us know." Is what I said. We are all trying to keep Ron on track . Soemtimes its hard when you get frusterated to stay on track.Well shit....here we go. Ron hasn't turned one single bolt and the whole world is looking for billet gears. How about we let him get it torn down first.
You're kidding......right?
I've got three engines with rods hanging out of them.....two in the last month and the last one had less than two damned runs on it. I fully understand frustration."As soon as you get it out pull that pump and a couple bearing caps and let us know." Is what I said. We are all trying to keep Ron on track . Welcome to the chicken little club slick....the oil pump...

I agree completely and have a stock oil pump in mine as well and wouldnt have gone any other way.I've got three engines with rods hanging out of them.....two in the last month and the last one had less than two damned runs on it. I fully understand frustration.
What I'm saying is let's just wait until Ron gets things apart before we go "m/f-ing" the oil pumps all over the place.
