Hey fellas,
I need advice. I just installed a JLT 110mm CAI and a 93 octane tune from BBR. When I started the car, it barely idled; I had to feather the throttle just to get it to run. It motor idles rough and the exhaust smells extremely rich producing tons of smoke. The car throws a P061B and the check engine light comes on, and the car is definately not drivable. I checked to make sure everything was reconnected, to include the PCV and MAF sensor. I can't see where I unplugged anything incidently, but I do have reservations about relocating the power steering resevoir. The hoses aren't arranged perfectly, but that shouldn't be the problem. The MAF sensor is installed with the airflow arrow pointing toward the throttle body, but the I'm wondering if it matters how its oriented since I can spin the intake tube 180 degrees. This was a little confusing because the JLT installation instructions stated the JLT symbol wouldn't be visible after the install, but it is.
I reinstalled the factory tune, but the car didn't run smooth, but still better than it did with the BBR tune, and I'm guessing that's because of the larger intake. Still, I can't help wonder if I fricked something up. I reinstalled the BBR tune, and I get the same result: undrivable.
I called BBR and they are re-writing a tune and expediting it to me tonight. Hopefully this solves the problem, but again, I can't help wonder if I jacked something up.
Question is: is there something I'm missing? Any experience you can share would be greatly appreciated. I'm a newb and exploring new ground here.
Thx
Trey
