2011 Mustang Gt 6 sp/mt went from 3.31 to 3.73s.

I may get laughed at but not really a big difference? I noticed more from my tune/cai combo than the gears. My question is my speedo is off like 8-10 mph. I reset the tuner for 3.73 gears am I also suppose to change the rev/mile feature on the SCT tuner? and if so to what?

Also the dang thing whines pretty good at rolling and just cruising, can't hear the whine under throttle or being on the gas per se.

Thanks

You wouldn't change the revs/mile unless you changed the size of your tire. If you made the change for 3.73 gears and your speedo is still off, you have a problem.

Your gears shouldn't whine if they were installed correctly.

Ohh well thats not good, I ll talk to the tech and see what he can do. They were brand new Ford gears. Thank you for your input.

I would check online and see what your tires are for rev/mile and make sure it's the same on the tuner. When ever I've had gears installed they made no noise at all, so it sounds like the backspacing or something is not right.

It's more than a 'bother', it must be taken care of. Your preload or something else is off, and the thing won't last like that...

Thanks guys for the help, the place is closed on the weekend but i did leave a voice mail and will also follow up on Monday. I wasnt to sure what to expect as far as gear noise goes on a swap, but this is way to much for me and I would have rather stayed with the 3.31s.

you'll be much happier with the gear once it's correct. You should not be experiencing any issues noise. Once thats fixed, you'll be much happier.

I'm running 4.10's and love em

Thanks for the input, I'm just pissed because I don't want to drive the car around in this condition and possibly hurt something.

you'll be fine just driving around a few, but don't do any big launches or anything, they should have driven the car when they were done. they probably did and are just lazy
